I got x-Men today and decided to have another look at this as it's the same type of game. Now x-Men has no IAP or currency but I decided to buy this and I'm glad I listened to my other self. These side scrollers are like runners you either love them or hate them but there's only so much you can do with this genre and yet Warhammer have churned out a delightful side scroller. First off dont expect a turn by turn game or an RPG as its none of these. I loathe side scrollers. I never even look at them. I only looked at X-Men and this because I like their other games. Yet I was surprised to find a very nicely wrapped game in this presentation. I didn't expect such a good game and even when I first began playing it my very first impression was its worth the money. They've done a lot of work on this and I must admit I am impressed. If you don't go for side scrollers you won't like this but I don't like them either yet love this. Its awesome!
Still not out in Japan and Taiwan.... I think I'll give up on that game, next time they should tell us that it's a soft launch
No out in Italy, and they have patched with italian localization... I don't understand the strategy beyond make a localization without selling the game.
Thats because they have no strategy, the guy in charge of the marketing is an idiot. I was waiting for this game to come out world wide, but I'll go for the x-men game
This may be a stupid question but do you have Games Workshop stores in Italy? I'm just wondering if this is a soft launch or some weird licensing territory agreement down to Games Workshop themselves.
As someone that's had it since release, I've got to say, I don't understand why people are clamouring to get it. As great as the Games Workshop and Warhammer (40K) brands are, this game is not all that stellar. You could get almost the same experience from playing the X-Men sidescroller that was reviewed yesterday, if you replaced the character models. Do yourselves a favour and wait for a few updates first, it's very basic, and wasn't worth my £5 on release.
I'm afraid at this point, there's very little to it. Just a sidescroller with a few different difficulties, a confusing/broken/unimplemented 'ClashMob'-style system, and a shallow stat-upgrade system via items that can be bought using IAP or in-game currency. Weapons are upgradeable, but they're also on timers that steadily rise as you progress/get better weapons.
I find this whole localization thing incredibly stupid. Are you seriously telling me this isn't out in Lebanon or the Arab world yet because we're waiting to play it...in Arabic? Roadhouse Games...guys, we don't play games in Arabic over here.
