not really, both have soldiers but they have completely different types of gameplay, not similar at all

yeah, fieldrunners, as good as it is, is a tower defense

this is more, like a warlords style game
or a reverse fieldrunners, as in you can deploy units to breach their defenses, rather then just defending

i like how you can gain ground/territory and have to think on your feet quickly to counter what your enemy is deploying
and warfare 1917 has amazing trench warfare strategies

i would most likely buy this, or a similar styled game on zi touch

This would rock on the iPhone!
We have way too little strategy games on this platform.

    Fieldrunners is good anyways.

What about that other Warfare game in the top 100? I haven't played it but isn't that similar?

Well, I just spent roughly an hour with it from the flash link you provided.

I think this would be a perfect iphone game. Fun, stategic, simple and controls shouldn't be that hard to implement. All you really do is scroll from left to right, so it would be easy to just 'swipe' left and right ya know.

I hope someone ports this game or makes something similar.

    Great game. :D

Ok, I just wasted too much time on that game. That is great, and if done correctly, a high segment game.

I swear if I had the know-how on how to make apps I would recreate this game for the iphone/touch, charge a couple bucks and be RICH Biatch!

Agreed. Great looking web title. Deserves a new platform.

    DO IT!.......please.

This would sell, no doubt. Maybe even make it more modern day warfare with better weaponry. Or just keep it 'ol school. :D

ive talked with armorgames before, they have developed one app, phit, for the iphone, and he (one of the developers, there are a few of them) said he was considering developing more for the device but nothing was planned

we should talk to con artist @ armorgames, show our support
he is also one of the creators of the last stand games,

    http://armorgames.com/play/269/the-last-stand

    which i love

Armor Games realistically isn't going to allow anyone outside of their studio to develop games on another platform. I shot an e-mail off to them and I expect to get the obvious response. With the eminent release of Flash of the Apple touch screen devices, I'm sure they've got plans to develop games for it. Realize that Flash could potentially not only be an in-browser media player, but also an app launcher for games like this. Who knows though.

    That is an excellent idea!

Maybe shoot him an email with a link to this thread, if that ok with OP.

Oh and, hehe, I just spent about 3 hours on the last stand 2 yesterday, sad, I know but what a fun addictive game!

Armor Games needs to just open a full on iphone division for games.

Not saying direct port, develop from the ground up, and make it similar.

    this is true

but the concept, is a genre, like a TD, but deploying units
you could even make a warfare incorporated version

I am in support of Armor games porting their games, and I am in support of anyone who will be willing to create this kind of strategy game for the platform...I'll even chip in on the graphics work for free since my app development has stalled horribly..i have to do something with my time haha
