Actually The Dark Meadow was an amazing game, and then the Freemium fiasco happened and it was never the same, to much grinding, and going to back to a basic level, making it extremely hard to finish the game. The original Dark Meadow is still one of my favourite games, so I did expect a lot when I saw the original teaser trailer of World war z. Graphics and shadows are nice, but this game and it's control scheme seems odd? they should have made this game free roam?
They are also the devs of Horn, one of my favorite IOS games up to date. I don't know how this one will turn out, but we shall see in 4 days.
Hey, lots of times you have to leave your brain outside the door when you take in a movie. It's fiction! Just go with it and enjoy the ride! Or games for that matter! The trailer for the movie is so outrageous showing so any people onscreen getting thrown around you can't help but stare at it with your mouth open, man! Things that matter to me are if it's thrilling and if it's fun! Blow me away and have me trippin' out! I dig it! That's what it's supposed to do!
I do agree with your assessment on the War Z movie, it looks like a fun " Popcorn" type of movie. From what I've heard the book is a masterpiece and they have totally dumbed down the movie but so what, you have to take for what it is. A fun blockbuster zombie type movie. I wish I could say the same about the game, it looks kinda boring.
Any official word on price yet? Anyone know of this game price? I hear it coming out this coming week..anyone with more details on game please post it here for all interested Thanks!
I'm looking forward to this game and the movie. It reminds me a bit of 28 days later (Classic british zombie film) where it was a surprise at first to have the zombies 'run' at normal speed as you always think of slow walking zombies. Having them in hordes like this running full speed i think is great, looking forward to the app, hope it lives up to the billing.
if it s really coming out today you should check the nz appstore in 3 hours!! anyway there is a gameplay video which says that there are others control schemes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N9eUyxTS88
"World War Z will be released on May 30th for iOS" - ArcadeSushi "..daptation of the same name game is scheduled for May 30" - GR I also think it will be simulations worldwide release, ArcadeSushi is credible
Pocketgamer just went hands on with World War Z! http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/World+War+Z/news.asp?c=51217 According to them, the gameplay is pretty fun, controls are simplified as much as possible. You can do free roaming around, solve some puzzles, cinematic cutscenes, and hunt for items. The only thing they're concerned is the pricing model, they don't know if it's freemium/premium and there are some signs of a shady paywall.
I don't like pocketgamer at all. They tend to force their opinions on the reader too often. I still remember the 9mm review telling you to "immediately turn off the gyro" Now they generalize that all iOS FPSs are terrible. How obnoxious can you get? That's not good journalism. That's an opinion that belongs in an editorial piece.
Yep, can't stand that approach. Or their horrible puns, for that matter (seriously, guys, you don't have to come up with a pun for every. single. article!). They often have some very nice scoops, though, that few of the other sites pick up on...
Confirmed! The World War Z game hits iOS and Android on May 30! Video by Paramount Info: "They're coming. Ready? The World War Z game hits iOS and Android on May 30. Travel the world, defeat enemy hordes, and play to survive. Download the game before the film opens in theaters worldwide on June 21."
