I have to disagree with that, but let's not start a flame war, lol. To me the game looks fun and exciting. I liked the different views and angles. The huge hordes of zombies. This game could actually be a blast. I'm not a fan of phosphorous because of the Dark Meadow fiasco. The original Dark meadow was a favourite of mine until they ruined it with the freemium and iAP crap. The past is the past and this game whether it's originally priced at premium, then it goes to freemium? is a wait and see thing.... but this game still looks great !
I'm quite looking forward to this. Phosphor have a very strong history of developing quality titles and I'm fairly sure this will keep to that. Very interested to see how they handle the controls for this genre of game as they tend to go the non standard route. Should be a very interesting one.
“We loved the rich world that the filmmakers created, and are thrilled to tell a story that runs parallel to its film counterpart,” said Amy Powell, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment. “We wanted to give audiences a chance to truly live the movie in this story-based game.” “We were excited to be able to use the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 3 to bring World War Z to life,” said Chip Sineni, Phosphor Games Studio Director. “Our goal was to build Paramount a AAA game, and with that came all our favorite bells and whistles, like ambient occlusion lighting, multipass blended textures, and hordes of enemies to fight.”
Sick of generic, uninspired games, that's all. I don't get a sense of awe or trepidation when I view that trailer and see the dust/zombies taking over everything; the abhorrent framerate and skippy-ness of the trailer really kills it for me. Add the very bland zombie design, somewhat questionable controls, what appears to be on-rails gameplay that I've seen a thousand times before and the fact that this is a movie tie-in and I'm not impressed. This is just my honest and frank opinion after watching the trailer three or four times.
Generally tie in games from movies are pretty bad, but this could be the exception because it's made by Phosphor which do make high quality games. Hopefully this won't be freemium and loaded with iAP. I like the look of this game, because I usually don't see massive hordes of zombies on iOS games and 28 levels is very nice. I don't think I'll ever get bored of zombies, lol.
On-Rails Shooter out of ten. The photos a bit ago showed me this, what with the no dpad. Really crossing my fingers for a non freemium, non ORS Zombie game here. Dead Trigger was bad enough.
They changed so much from the book to the movie. If this game messes up The Battle of Yonkers, I will Be extremely ticked.
All this talk about the world war z book makes me want to read it. I've heard great things about it. I also hear that the movie and probably the game aren't close to the book. I'm really looking forward to this game, It looks fun. I'm not expecting a deep storyline.
Read the book. Read the book. Read the book. The movie will be no where near its level of epic. This can be good, but thats a longshot.
That trailer looks great. Can't wait for this. And with phosphorus behind it I know it'll be good! TAKE MY MONEYYY
All right... You convinced me to read this book. I'm a huge zombie fan, so this will be worth it. Thanks.
I don't care if this game is on rails. There have been many good rail games like NY zombies 2, Rage, Zombie Gunship, this game looks awesome. Can't wait for the release !!
NY:Z2 Wasn't on rails, the first wasn't either. Also Rage got way too boring. And I don't even think zombie gunship qualifies
Yes, I meant to say NY zombies but technically it wasn't on rails. It was a stationary game but well done. With zombie gunship, not on rails either, lol. I should have put a little more thought into that post but my point does get across, a game doesn't have to be free roam to be enjoyable.
