There is indeed such a view mode that is slightly more zoomed out! Actually War Animals would be pretty cool! Re: weapons and upgrades, its pretty extensive I'd say... and yes you can switch weapons (3 total manual weapons), which is a big part of the soft strategy (who and when to use your heavy hitting weaponry on). The game is very much about general awareness and prioritizing targets (as there are ranged, melee, charging, tank, mass, etc enemies, its important to know what to take care of in relation to what your auto DPS units are doing). We also have a more "freeflow" upgrade system then a typical clicker (that is usually much more of a linear, defined upgrade path). Also with our perk system, War Tortoise actually becomes pretty dynamic - ie, based on the perks you have, you'll probably want to be prioritizing different units and weapons during your play throughs.
Yes, exactly, more or less (though its definitely deeper than a typical clicker). I'm hesitant to use the words "idle shooter" to describe the game, but it wouldn't be far off, and at some times is very applicable (for ex after you prestige a few times and are blowing through the early waves).
Ha! I love it... On my last post i had pretty decent expectations off of this game, and the post above just multiplied my expectations x10! woot!
I am preparing my War Tortoise for battle. I fig i should get started now since time iz of the essence. The right attitude we both have iz a plus for this war. Her name iz Morla We don't even care whether or not we care Battle!!!
For reals. I did FINALLY beat the original NY Zombies yesterday. I always got about 3/4 of way through then gave up. Even back then, the attention to detail and bringing unique takes to a game were present... War Tortoise has some of that going for it, too! Cant wait to give it a go.. If they made it mutliplayer, it could almost be Clash Royale-esque, with two Tortoises and their armies going at it!!!
We actually just made another round of tweaks, so the game has evolved a bit more. Basically added quite a bit more "soft strategic" elements and some new ways to play, including controlling a portion of your economy (kind of like PvZ sunflowers), melee allies that can aggro enemies away from you, and more. There really is a ton of variety in how you can play and which upgrade paths you can go down, which I think is a nice change of pace from the traditional linear clickers. I think War Tortoise is shaping up to be quite a unique mix, being something that either an idle/clicker, action, OR strategy fan can enjoy (we hope)- in fact, the hardest part is describing just what the heck this game is We're excited for you guys to get your hands on the game though - hope to be submitting very soon now!
Would you consider doing some test flights so we can give you some feedback before you ship it? I can't wait for your game. This is going to be awesome! Billy
Time to drop it like its hot around here. This waiting is unbearable.. Waiting to play the game when its actually released like... like... like the mere PEASANTS is putrid tripe! Im readying my Rhinos, Catapults, and trying to mount a saddle on a tortoise I found jn the backyard to stand against this injustice... TO BATTLE!!! The game is really shaping up to be awesome!!!
Or just give us tortoises. ...Ive typed that word more in the last couple months than my entire life. Thanks, Foursaken, for expanding my vocab!
