I don't believe this is possible. I just looked through the app and I don't see anyway to do this. FM correct me if I'm wrong. I'd actually like to be wrong. And I know what you mean. I had selected to start at a certain level during the beta and when I regenerated I was way way too underpowered for where I started. Argh! Hehe Billy
What I love so much about this game, that I've not found in any other game, is that you really feel like you are part of such a massive and living battlefield. There's so much going on. Troops die and run or fly back to the front. Enemies get annoyed at your mouse squad and go after them. There's even a level with enemy war tortoises walking around. It's just freaken fantastic! I've sat down and played for hours and not even realized it was hours. I hadn't even realized it. You know a game is good when that happens. That you lose yourself in it. I wasn't kidding when I said this game is one of my top games of the year contenders. This game is pure action all the time. Then you add in all there is to upgrade. The IAP is just done right with permanent purchases and absolutely full iCloud save support. I normally never buy tokens in a game. Never. I never buy consumable IAP. But in this game I have and will continue to. It's worth it. I just can't wait for a way to get rid of the pop up ad. Maybe you could also add in that we automatically get the free perk every 6 hours? That would definitely make it worth the $.99. I also wish we could just watch ads for extra cash in the store instead of just watching them to double the offline earnings. I would absolutely watch back to back ads for cash. That would be well worth my time and data. I also wish, and I don't know how feasible this would be, to have a permanent token purchase auto mineral collector so that I could totally concentrate on fighting and not be distracted by moving and tapping the minerals. I'd pay for this. Would this be possible? You could even have it upgrade able so that it would auto pick them up quicker. For some reason I HATE missing out on the mineral cash so I focus more on picking them up than on fighting. So I wish my solution could be done. I want to concentrate on fighting more. And wow look at the AppStore reviews. The game is a hit! I hope Touch Arcade does a proper review. I wish Apple would give it an editors note. The game deserves it. Look at all those 5 stars! Billy
Correct, there is no way to reset perks... theoretically they should all be balanced so that its a great advantage no matter what you choose. Also if you could reset at any time it would defeat the purpose of the 3 choice system - which I think is a neat way to add some dynamic elements in there. Yeah we're super excited about the positive reception so far! Hopefully if the game does well enough we can add some real juicy content in the near future As for auto-collector... we've got an idea for that
huh, from the premise of the game and the picture i was like pff, not really feeling it, but let's see why everyone seems to love it. ..and then i was hooked. I will probably go for the 10eu purchase to get the permanent doublers. I would appreciate no adds with my purchase also though. I am thinking i will enjoy this more than H&C2, because even though i instabought it last year, i found it way too difficult :/
I don't comment often but this game is amazing, and for free?!?! There is IAP but absolutely no need to use it because of how they set up the way when you die your stats pass on to your new turtle. I almost want to buy IAP just because I have been playing it for so long and feel I should give a few bucks. Although, the IAP (even the cheapest) lets you buy some awesome seemingly strong perks so I don't know if I want to give myself an advantage in the game without earning it. Really fun and free, no reason not to try it.
This game is unbelievably addicting haha. I sat down and just played straight through. Anyone know if there's a max level or is it endless? Also, what determines what perk level you get? Is it random?
First off, just thanks for playing! I would say if you were cautious about changing game balance, then the double perk choice and a few head starts would still be good options. There actually is an end... but that will take a LONG time We'll likely be adding some achievements in the first update to better guide the player. Speaking of which, I'd also love to hear suggestions and ideas people have for future updates!
For sure more enemy types. I'd like more troops like why not rail gun scorpions or something. Instead of stingers they could use a gun and be on the left side of the support tortoise. I'd like more boss battles. They are too infrequently offered. I'd like to know what direction the heavy weapon is that's targeting me. It does me no good to know that a heavy weapon is targeting me when there's 20 enemies on the screen. If there was a directional indicator it would atleast let me know what direction to look at. Main machine gun upgrade to a laser machine cannon. Lol. I'd pay for this just for the graphic and sound effects alone. Nukes. I want the ability to buy a permanent perk with a long cool down that could be upgraded for a nuke with a cool mushroom cloud that would wipe all enemies off the screen. I guess it would be a tactical nuke. You'd place the button underneath the howitzer button and would call in the missile and watch it quickly descend and explode. It would be effing epic. And you could make the timer upgrade able so the cool down is less and less with each upgrade. Opt in ads, instantly repeatable, in the store, for extra cash. An IAP to remove the pop up ad that also gives us the free perk every 6 hours without having to watch the ad. A permanent token purchased perk to double our offline earnings upon log in so we don't have to watch an ad. It's ok to make this several dollars worth of tokens. It would be worth it. More worlds. Such as a burned out cityscape. I think that would be neat to have a burning cityscape in the background. There's so much more that could be done with this already kick ass game. I could go on all day. Billy
#####♠️ I ❤️ reading here. You folks R Amazing as iz this Masterpiece of a iOS videogame. Morla sayz Thank You All. !!!###!BATTLE!###!!!
@Forsaken, a new player guide would be a great idea! The initial tutorial is great, but I'm a little lost with the next gen concept. I'm now sitting at L53, generation #95 (115k% damage to everything, 220k starting money). So far i've been next gen'ing as soon as I can each time. Not really sure if this is the best way to proceed or what but i'm having a lot of fun.
I see... actually you can get the best and biggest bonuses by beating your old best level each time (you can see the info in the next gen screen). For example if you 1st next genned at level 7, then if you get to level 8 next time, you get a big bonus (even bigger bonus for each subsequent level beyond your old best) - basically the game rewards you more for constantly progressing further.... although there is certainly no reason why you couldn't play the way you are either! But I could see a help/hint guide be useful... something to add to the list of possibilities for sure.
Agreed - for example, is there some way to click on an item to get a description of what it does? Meanwhile, can someone tell me if a Mining Tower is something I should have/upgrade? No idea what it does....
Interesting game, better than a generic clicker that's for sure I'm wondering something... I'm a power gamer and min-maxer, I'm kind of OCD about it... Is it possible to ruin your stats by choosing the wrong perks? I mean is there an optimal way/branch that's better and more optimal than other branches etc.? Or can we just go yolo and forget about it? I'd hate to have to reroll, don't have the time anymore for that.
For 99% of things its really just a matter of dealing more damage. There are some nuances in how the units behave and what the upgrades do, but the damage number displays the overall dps pretty well. As for mining tower, not a necessity really... it increases the production of the orbs you collect by tapping on them - I believe there was a short tutorial blurb about it at the start of the game. Theoretically we tried to balance all the numbers so they are more or less equal no matter what you choose, so it should be mostly about preference.
This might be a stupid query, but what do weapon upgrades do? For example, my gun tower has four available upgrades - the fourth one is "weapon upgrade". Is it simply a dps increase or is there an extra shot or effect of some sort?
You start out with 1 gun tower. After doing a weapon upgrade you now have 2. It adds to that weapon system. So you start with one howitzer beetle, then add a 2nd etc etc. Billy
Actually I think you got the upgrade types mixed up - you're talking about squad size There is a little tutorial that pops up when you first tap on 'Weapon Upgrades', but generally it upgrades the dps of a single unit. It also visually changes their weapon and weapon effects (depending on the weapon type, like plasma for ex). Basically they are just different ways to deal higher dps (some rapid fire, some slower but more powerful, etc). Either way they are always beneficial and very important!
