Woke up today to see the update is finally here. Love the new heroes FM! Really like how their levels aren't reset with each gen. It's amazing to see so much added in one update, so excited to see how it will affect my game. Pay to remove ads? Done!
Well, sort of. FM notes that if you go yo even higher levels, the rewards are even higher. So regen at yhe minimum, gets you minimalrewards.
I think the agreed upon "proper path" is to at least regen fairly quickly the 35 times to unlock everything, and after that it's fine to push. with the new cheapness and added effectiveness of buying the starting level booster, you can probably propel yourself forward pretty quickly by at least trying to get far. and honestly, that's probably a lot more fun. personally i think the 35 to unlock everything is a flawed implementation and people shouldn't have to gain access to units faster by essentially sucking more.
Even after updating it doesn't seem like my away money is based on my max level. I got to level 6 right after a new generation (with a max of level 96) and left for a few hours and came back to only about 6000. And I have several perks that increase my away money too. Another thing I noticed is sometimes it looks like one of my Biggin Mouse Squad mice isn't holding a gun, usually after adding a squad member/upgrading weapons. That also wasn't addressed in the update, idk if no one reported it before.
Going from gen 25 to 35 was grueling for me because I like going as far as I can until I die. I ended up just suiciding a bunch and it wasn't fun.
Skipping levels a disadvantage? I remember reading forsaken saying that when you use the skip level you would get all the gold from killing enemies. But you don't get the mining Gold. With the new system that means hundreds of thousands lost. What's everyone else's take on this.
Update is super duper nice. Have unlocked all heroes as well. Pack rat who auto loots ore and sniper who goes for exclamation point units seem to be staples. Who do you think are ideal for the last slot? I'm leaning towards the medic and the pack rat given free, but I'm a bit on the fence over the idea that the medic may not be necessary..? (If I upgrade my armor enough) Also noticed the level skip perk goes by 15s now? Bigger value!
Love this game. However, I scrolled through these forums and am still missing two things: 1) Do the different color minerals do different things? 2) What exactly does armor do? Does it provide a chance to completely ignore the damage from one attack or reduce the damage taken? Sometimes it seems like hits don't affect my HP. Just unlocked the zeppelin and loving it. I haven't really found a the sniper or howitzer upgrades on my tortoise to be particularly useful. I like to have the supports do my work for me... Great work devs.
I think armor works in this way I could be wrong Say the normal damage is 1000. You have an armor of 500. You only lose 500 hp per hit.
Not quite. That's how I think it should be, but it works as a dodge chance. If you're armor is 50 you have a 50% chance not to take damage from an attack, which doesn't make much sense since the point of armor is to lessen the effectiveness of enemy attacks not completely mitigate it sometimes, but that's how it goes. --- Just unlocked the War Zeppelin! I suicided 3 times to quickly get it and it's really not fun. I'd rather unlock things by reaching milestones, which would encourage people not to rapid regen and actually try, just my 2 cents
Anxiously waited for the update, game just crashes on startup now. Hands are officially washed of it. Too bad.
They're getting a hotfix out now. Shelve the game for now, but you're not doing yourself any favours by deleting it
Personally think nothing should have been locked period. System is inherently backward from other reward mechanic of getting as far as possible. If I hadn't bought a $10 pack of tokens probably wouldn't be such a big deal, but I still don't have support tortoise unlocked since I haven't had the patience to do "suicide" runs. Probably going to now that games are going to take me days (once I find the break point post patch)
Devs, I have a feature request. Would it be possible to put 3 transparent buttons on the left side of the screen to activate the 3 heroes? It would make it quicker and easier and allow me to continue fighting without searching for them way down in the field. Billy
I agree with this, if the medic hero is remotely close to the pack rat and I try clicking on the pack rat. No matter how far away from the medic I attempt to click it activates the invincibility instead of the ten gems. Which is frustrating since 95% of the time they are near eachother in the middle of the battlefield. Superb update BTW!
Found a money bug... Only seems to happen when you have a lot of money, but not quite enough for the x100 of say the support tortoise damage buff: the button will be lit as if you can buy it, and when you click it a massive amount of money disappears but you don't get any bonus (not even as much as you could have paid for even though short). So it's like the balance check to light the button is lower than the balance needed to buy the amount, and clicking causes lot of money to evaporate. Edit for clarity: you get a popup - 'can't afford that' yet lots of money is 'spent' on nothing.
I've also noticed an odd change - previously it seemed the wave bar would just diminish as the mobs died and never refill during the wave, now it behaves almost as if it's spring loaded, and the bar starts to refill despite all of the mobs being one-shottable. This is super-odd behaviour in that there's no challenge (as all of the mobs get one-shot) however it's difficult to progress due to the extreme amount of time per wave when it occurs.
Yes, noticed this as well. Happens on the waves that spawn a bazillion small beetles now. Those always took forever so don't think anything changed there, but the wonky progress bar makes it seem longer
