Hey everyone! You might remember us for Ninja Dude vs Zombies and by starting this thread on Toucharcade we're ready to proudly announce we've commenced the development of our next game! War Duels is a whac-a-mole-ish turn-based tactical duel on IFVs in the alternate reality with some meta gameplay and strategy elements. Acclamations: Runner-up in Top-5 PG Connect's Mobile Big Indie Pitch in London 2018. Player's task is to seize and hold new sectors on the map and destroy all of the opponents' tanks. Game description: The year is 1914 but not the 1914 that you've read about in your history books. In a multiverse of infinite possibilities, here is a 1914 where the development of technology chose.... a different path. Dergany, a republic in name but a dictatorship by nature, blazed a trail in the technology of war; a trail it knew all too well. After devouring their own resources in the relentless pursuit of the perfect war machine, their covetous eyes turned to their prosperous neighbours. The vast Colossia, with its huge tracts of wild lands and abundant mineral wealth was too tempting a fruit, apparently ripe for the picking.... On the 3rd of May 1914, temptation turned to action. Dergany struck at Colossias precious northern provinces and thus began a bloody conflict, the outcome of which would define the path of Man. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Game stand-out features: Engage tactical duels with friends test your wits in combats based on a popular Whac-a-Mole arcade game Compete in real-time PvP conquer territories, take control over oil deposits, and wipe off your opponents; Manage your own military base run and upgrade it to build IFVs, recruit soldiers and mechanics, produce power-ups and modifications; Call for reinforcements request more IFVs from your military base by air; Please share your thoughts, impressions, and suggestions about the game. fair thoughts! no idea how could we missed that. It definitely more logical move. We'll replace barbwires with tank traps.
We've made up a description for our game. Have a look! Hey everyone! How's going so far? We've spent some time this week aside just designing and programming to write a neat game description. Here it is: "Year of 1914. Alternate reality. Technological development takes a different road. Dergany experiences heavy technological growth. Local dictatorship is focused on the development and manufacture of all types of advanced arms. Production facilities devour gazillions of fuel every single day and natural resources are about to dry up. Neighbouring Colossia, by contrast, abounds with oil deposits and has vaster territories that are hard to control. In May 1914 Dergany launches a treacherous attack on the northern borders of Colossia plunging two countries into bloody war…" What do you think? Is it appealing enough and intriguing?
I took the liberty of having a go. I liked the way you put it together, I just thought it could sound a little more grandiose. "The year is 1914 but not the 1914 that you've read about in your history books. In a multiverse of infinite possibilities, here is a 1914 where the development of technology chose.... a different path. Dergany, a republic in name but a dictatorship by nature, blazed a trail in the technology of war; a trail it knew all too well. Dergany struck at Colossias precious northern provinces and thus began a bloody conflict, the outcome of which would define the path of Man." My thanks to Mr. Wells for the paraphrasing of covetous eyes. Edit: Bloody page turn. This regarding the previous description, obviously.
That's absolutely stunning! Man, this is so huge! Your edition sounds grandiose, indeed! Just like you mean it! Is it ok if we use it 'as is' in all our game's listings, store descriptions etc.?
Sure; you're more than welcome. I hope it helps. Edit: now I come to reread it, maybe take out the "..." from "chose... a different path." so that it simply reads "chose a different path." The first is overly dramatic and it doesn't need it imo. If you like it though, keep it.
Yeah, in fact it's quite common to omit "..." in sentences like this in game descriptions, in particular. Maybe, we'll do some other alterations, but a bit later, cuz right now we're focused on programming and design.
Absolutely. Chop it up as you like; they're your words now. My fee is one TestFlight invite if you do a beta.
Introducing a new type of solider - Mechanic! Since last week we've made the following: Map * replaced barbwires with tank traps to make it more authentic in case of real obstacles for IFVs * redesigned the look of mountains - made it more snowy Combat: * added new soldier type - mechanic. He could heal comrades and repair damaged trap-doors. The thing is that he should be next to a damaged slot or a dead soldier to perform his duties. So, you'll need to thoroughly plan each of your moves (you have 2 moves at a time: use it carefully and balance between making a grenade throws and moving your soldiers). WW I tactics in full swing! Some brainstorming is required! Check him in action: Feedback we need: - How do you like mechanic-type soldier? Do we need him? Should we charge him with more duties? - Does the map look neater after some polishing?
Now you can buy IFVs to prevail over the enemy! Hey everyone! We've added 'Shop' funtional where you can buy additional IFVs on the money you collect from your sectors (the more sectors you control, the better for you budget). After picking up a unit in a shop point a sector on a map where you want it to be delivered. How do you like our Shop and especially the animations of how the units are being delivered on the battle field?
Working on additional weaponry for IFVs in combat Hey everyone, This week we're working on additional weapon for the IFVs to engage combats. We're thinking it to be something like a main gun, that will choose a random slot on your opponents IFV and shoot it prior to you solider's grenade throw. It'll add more tension, variety, and difficulty to the combat mode we have right now.
