Okay, finished WM with all endings seen. Am I right to assume there will be a second game? Or an add-on?
extinction? Has anyone tried to completely wipe out all zoas in every chamber (including destroying all seeds so nothing can be planted)? I am thinking about doing it to one of my 100%+ saves but I'd like to know (roughly) how much time I'm committing.
If we sell enough copies, a sequel is always a possibility! Right now, we really want to work on other stuff, as I'm sure you can imagine. That said, we are working on our update plan and are definitely going to roll out new content for Waking Mars, we just haven't decided exactly what that content is going to be yet. Anything in particular you'd like to see?
You're jumping ahead to our imaginary sequel, "Making Wars," where you play as a space marine with a flamethrower who is dropped into your beautiful, cultivated alien garden from Waking Mars and must exterminate all life. I haven't heard of anybody trying to go this route -- the only negative is that you won't be able to wipe out the Chapter 1 lifeforms, so you won't be able to go all the way to zero biomass. But I'm sure you could do it for the rest of the game given enough time and patience!
Hi David, its difficult to see how you could just add to the existing game but my goodness what a marvelous game you made for us.Is it possible for this scientific team to have another adventure in space, its just that you have the controls so perfect within a beautifully smooth game engine,i can only imagine the work involved, but if nothing else happens thanks for this game.
No help? Did i Do/Say something wrong? I've went back in the thread & I don't see anywhere it may have been mentioned before. But I'd truly like to finish off this excellent adventure, yet I can' seem to find all of the MegaZoa. or maybe i've found a bug? Can anyone who has finished w 100% completion help me? thanks in advance.
Sorry madvillain! We really need a gamefaqs entry or something... anyone? There are 5 MegaZoa, and they can be found in the following levels: Spoiler Harvester What Will Rise (Levitroph) Lost Mars (Periscope) Feranmaxes The Reservoir (Hydronmaxes)
First let me thank you for the reply. I love iOS games for the simple fact that i feel the development teams are much more connected with their fanbase. I've found 4 of the MegaZoa sans Spoiler Feranmaxes on the research screen it shows the 4 i've discovered, then Two open slots. is this a "Undocumented Feature"? and are Spoiler Feranmaxes in a particular place? Thanks again for answering
Yeah, it's fun for me too -- coming from AAA development where I'd work on something for years and never even be allowed to talk to fans directly. Spoiler Feranmaxes requires that you get into the chamber at the bottom of the level and find the 0CT0 camera module. Then the other hidden item -- the 'Abstract' -- will unlock. Thanks for playing the game
David, earlier you mentioned you were working on enhanced graphics for the new iPad; do you have any estimate of when that will be ready?
I submitted a quick update last week to resolve a bug, which will have the game running at full resolution. The only super noticeable change in this version, though, will be the text. We're working on an update with updated UI and selective in-game art at higher resolution, and that's going to likely be submitted next week, so hopefully you'll see it somewhere in the April 10-20 timeframe. Also going to push a Spider HD update at the same time, if all goes well!
Thanks. I am really looking forward to playing your game, but I will try to hold off a few more weeks.
Oh and the first update should hopefully hit in the next day or two, it's been waiting for review for almost a week now! Presumably Apple is pretty slammed with Retina iPad / 5.1 updates.
I have encountered a major issue: I was in feranmaxes when I was killed in lava, and during the white screen, I quit the app. When I returned to the game (much later) the chamber is now completley empty and has 0 biomass. There is no terrain to plant anything either, so I am unable to improve it in any way.
Waking Mars Hey there.. I'm new to this forum, but am well-versed in Waking Mars. Love that game. I've beaten it on 2 ipads and an ipod now... right off the bat, lemme tell everyone, you do nothave to max-out your biosmass on all maps to beat the game. quite frankly, you really only need a few to be maxed-out.. some only need to get biosmass up long enough to open doors. Once you go through them, they are on your map and do not need to be open anymore. some other tips: any map where there are cycots, use them to max-out your biomass. try to avoid planting the predator plants (I foget their name... the ones that eat other life forms) on cycot levels. You can throw the exploding and water seeds to a cycot.. just throw them up past them.. they will catch them. do not throw them at the cycot directly. maps that have the really big silver seeds plants should be seeded as much as possible with those seeds (they produce the most biomass than any other zoa). they are tough to manipulate becasue you cannot grab them.. so yo umust rely on kicking them into place. Always go to the lowest point in a map to see if those plants exist. if they do, toss a hydron/water seed at them. they'll start producing seeds quickly that auto-float to the top of the map. help kick them into green grassy areas. Another tip: if you have one type of spore (blue or yellow) but need the other type, you can convert them... to convert the yellow spore to blue, throw it, then throw a water seed near it (so it pops). conversely, if you throw a blue spore into acid, it will turn yellow. be careful putting these plants on any levels with the ooposing type of grass on them.. eventually, you'll go back to that map and find all plants have been replaced with the spore plant. levels with the zyphas (the ant-like creatures) are good for producing the predator plant seeds.. but keep in mind that there is a max # of those animals you can reproduce... eventually, they will start producing offispring that die. another handy thing to note... When you get into the last half of the game, some big levels will have landing pads on them (loosk like somethign man-made with a aneedle like spike coming from them). if you site Liang on the pad, you will get a zoomed-out view of the map. Some maps have multiple landing pads on them. kill annoying rope plants (forgot their name too) with the exploding seeds.. some of them will have to eat two of them before they die.. be warned though, they offer a lot of biomass.. so only kill the ones that are really really in your way. to help myself, if turned a lot of the initial maps in the second half of the game, into factories for a seed of a particular type. once i had been to all areas, I went back and converted them into other plants to bios biomass again. interfacing with the sentients is a trip. great game.. i wish it wasn't over. unfortunately, it doesn't really lend itself to a sequal either (unless we're talking about another planet).
not all maps have terrain to plant anything. so don't panic. usually, when you die, you go back to a state where you entered that map. Also, some maps have multiple exits. you'll fins that you can get to/from some maps in different ways. some maps are literally setup as machines to produce specific seeds... explore the whole map before planting anything so you get a feel for how that machien will work and what it was intended to produce (usually, upper terrains will want the green seeds so they produce green seeds that drop down and go somewhere else on the map... like a cycot cave)
Can anyone help me on this? I went to the base camp and chat with Amani, but she said we need to wait 8 months. I don't know where to go next. I only have the mission " Seek more evidence of sentient life." Where should I go next? Alright, i found the way to the core. Problem solved.
Thank you. Just wanted to say: this was pretty much the best iOS game I've ever played, and I've played quite a few, starting on the iPhone 1. Almost never do I play a game start to finish, but I did this one in two days (largely forgetting to eat or sleep). The survival aspect is fun, the ecosystem is *incredibly* rich, and the narrative is fantastic. I bought it because I loved Spider, and you far exceeded my expectations. Huge thanks to Tiger Style, and I can't wait to see what they do next.
