Well I feel like saying something like... !@!#!@$ @@! #$&%$ You are totally correct, that should not happen, I will patch it tonight, I really am sorry. If you restart the game it will work fine. Very VERY frustrating... If you want to go back to the main menu please make sure to do so, Hitting No at this point will delete the empire button for some reason, It shouldn't because it uses the same routines as surrender which work fine. Quess we will have another update alot sooner then planned!
Maybe you could also check the galaxy map too, because it seems there's a weird bug with the planets shown in the map. I've just begun a new game, the long one (colonization I think) and I'm the red ones. At the beginning it was right, but after a few turns the purples show one planet in the galaxy map, but the planet counter shows they have two planets. I've checked the galaxy and they do indeed have two planets, but when you go to the general map of the galaxy under the 'info' tab, there's a planet which doesn't appear!!! Maybe instead of Aerin you could have called it Ghostin
yes, as I mentioned earlier .. because there is no other option for me to continue, I just click INFO and play around inside it, then go back to the game, *puff*, the EMPIRE button was missing again and so I was stuck again .. I can't seem to replicate this issue though, so I can't remember what did I click when I was in the INFO screen .. btw, I managed to continue playing, by making used of auto function .. well, it does keep me me hook up for the past 90 minutes ... meaning that if you can clean up those bugs, this could be a great game honestly .. another thing that I think you should add in the future is battle summary .. currently, to be frank I'm not sure what happened after the battle .. did I win? did I just lost a planet? how many casualties? these are the small details that can make this game much interesting and encourage the player to strategize on their next battle .. it give them target or sense of achievement (eg: how to minimize casualties etc) .. also it'll help the player to understand what actually happened .. for example, just now, I am having a battle with enemy, it seems that the enemy crushed me, but then the planet is still under my empire? I would think that because I was defeated in the battle, the planet should be lost to enemy then? or maybe I missed something? Thanks ..
Well, I thought that it would be better to begin a new game to see if I could replicate it and now MY PLANET doesn't appear!!!! Try it for yourself: begin a new "conquest" game, easy mode, and choose the red ones. If you compare planet-to-planet the galaxy with the galaxy map, I'm quite sure that you'll find one planet is missing. I've just counted the planets in the map and I can only find 79. The 80th planet is missing. Since I'm very curious, I've begun another new match and voila!: only 79 of the 80 planets are shown in the galaxy map. I hope this helps.
Yes, I'm missing a planet in the minimap. The galaxy itself is ok and the amount of planets for each race shown in the minimap (the number itself) is ok too.
Regarding the galaxy map: could you either make it so that I can tap on one of the planets in that view to instantly move the game screen there, or investigate pinch and zoom scaling in the main map and get rid of the galaxy map in the INFO menu. Either solution would really help players manage larger empires quickly. I'd love a way to get to distant areas of the map very quickly and efficiently. Second, I'm playing the new update (which is great, by the way) and it seems like the Auto function can break on occasion, but I haven't been able to repro exactly why. For instance, I just had a planet near the edge of my empire set to make frigates, used the Auto function over three consecutive turns and the number of frigates was still zero. However, I quit the game and restarted and then it worked fine. Since then, I've tested the Auto Set button for every type of production and I can confirm that it's working properly, but I'd ask the other folks who've downloaded the new update to see if they run into the same issue.
If you guys want to I am conducting a poll on our Facebook page to gauge what features have the greatest interest by our galactic conquestors, The top three I will stuff in the next build... Our Facebook page poll is here You guys can add feature requests to the poll if you don't see what you want in the next build. I will be hoping to submit the next build by next sunday night to Apple!
Well I don't have a facebook so I'll vote here Walkthrough and Moving via the map are the big two for me. I'd love GC and Oddities but I think it's important to get the core gameplay fun and accessible
Ok a few questions/assumptions: Effect of explore command is random. Gate command improves jump distance of ships in orbit of planet. Can this effect stack? (exploit: stack until it can jump to the edge of galaxy?) Offense and defense stat of a planet only affect ships in orbit. So If I transferred ships from one to another, the transferred ships will have stats of the planet they are transferred to? (exploit/strategy: have some 'production planets' that mass ships, transfer to front line planets with high off/def stats) Research is random?
Correct it is random. Kinda like drawing a card on a popular board game. This is also correct, but in the next update we have determined it best to cap the Gate level, as to avoid massive slowdowns with to many connections. Right, so you could for instance set a Attacking planet to increase it's Offense and defensive levels while planets behind your line can feed it ships. Currently six research categories, each with increasing levels, The randomization comes in when it is time to pick a new tech to research, You get 3 of the six tech categories randomly picked Hope that answers your questions and confirms your observations!
Can transfer frigates to other planets? I have a planet with 1 fighter and 5 frigates but the deploy option is empty.
I noticed this one in the last update but I think it works in the new update if you have three fighters (The lowest amount of fighters you can have and get the deploy command). Try building 2 fighters then deploy. It might have to do with Frigates and Capital ships needing support. In other news: I got one bug that was pretty odd... An enemy Colonized a planet (giving it one fighter) I sent my small fleet (4 fighters) and because of our formations we completely missed each other. When it was resolved I took over the enemy planet and they took over mine. The problem is that the game told me I still had a move somewhere. It was early in a campaign and only had 3 planets so I knew it wasn't possible. I hit next and the game either stalls or crashed.
Concerning the Transfer command, I thought it made sense that as during a battle your fighters have to warp in first, that you wouldn't transfer Ships of the line without a proper fighter escort. So yes intentionally you can transfer bigger ships without a total of three fighters. Others have mentioned it, and it is now on the "Do I want to change that?" list. As far as the planet swap bug I will have to try and duplicate it, thanks for the report on it!
I think it makes perfect sense now that... well, now that I actually thought about it I personally think it needs to stay but if/when a walkthrough happens that should be made clear. I know the bug is one of those things that are highly unlikely to happen but the only way to end your turn is to Auto.
Loving the game. It's a great simplified space 4X game. The added twist of indirectly controlling combat through chess-like advances adds a lot to the gameplay. Overall, very happy with it. Couple of small issues that would be nice to see changed: - Dragging your view of the galaxy is really awkward and slow, which is annoying in the later stages when you have a lot to see. Also sometimes results in miss-clicks. - lots of spelling and grammar mistakes in the tutorial. - Game has crashed on me a few times.
Oh like ok. Don't change this or it might cause gameplay imbalances. Just add the description somewhere in the game so players will know. And I'm also wondering if there is a cap on planet off/def stats? If not, please add one (~10-15?). Turtle strategy prevention
So thanks for the continued input guys, I will get the changes in the next build. In other news, are game is popular enough ( Or our trailer just stinks to bad) to be made fun of on youtube by a decent sized Youtube channel.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huM3avYW9eE&feature=channel_video_title I thought it was funny!
