I absolutely love this game. Its the perfect Mega Man type of game for mobile and the controls are perfect.
Had to jump on here just to say that I freaking LOVE the Desert stage! I think it's really well made and fun! All the branching paths in the pyramid and "secrets" leading to good stuff! Sorry, hadda geek out there. Haha!
Just made it to the last stage... About ready to buy the extra HP point... Without spending more than the entry price. And I already got the 500 orb weapon whatever it is (I don't even know what it does)... And bought 2 extra lives, 3 of those health pack things, and 2 weapon refills. Again:;: There is ABSOLUTELY NO need for IAPs after the initial purchase. But again, $0.99 for this game is PURE INSANITY. So I will be purchasing some orbs after I beat the game (for the first time... Definitely gonna try to beat the hard mode).
HI, I am not platform master by any mean XD. It takes me about 2 hours to reach the last place on this game . I will upload my playthrough later (you will see that I die a lot XD).
Stats page!! And I'm with ya... Gonna hit about the 2 hour mark when I complete the game on normal mode. =oP
Hells yeah, bro! I sang praise about the pyramid level a few posts above this as well! I looked over your post earlier, dunno how I missed it. Yeah tho...definitely a great level aye? ##
Regards to IAP, I feel ya. This game is fine. If you get the doubler you'll have the extra heart sooner, etc. which makes the game a little easier sure but this is definitely not a paywall situation. The challenges are all fair and bosses, for example, are all about grasping patterns and using the best weapons.
Yup. Just like back in the days of Ninja Gaiden amd Mega Man on the NES when IAP wasn't even a concept and games took skill and trial and error to win. And no internet to tell ya all of the secrets. If ya got stuck in a game you better either have had a friend that figured it out akd could tell you or you eventually figures ot out in your own. Ah....the good ol' days!
Congrats ^^^ guys! Although i'm (obviously) lacking some skills, experimented with the weapons, explored every possible corner, was impatient many times and therefor got killed over 300 times...now i'm standing in front of the two teleporters, woot! What an incredible satisfying achievement for me coming this far. Oh, and i'm scratching the seventh hour, lol. Without the coin doubler i probably would have quit the game on the twin bosses (stage 6/ice mines), but there is NO NEED for the IAP. (Agree on the ridiculous little amount of orbs for five bucks!) Very careful persistence and patience only brought me to this last stage (while getting a lot of orbs doing so). Here i have to juggle a lot with all my weapons. Great, great fun. I guess i'll get another two hours of gameplay just to beat this last stage.
A friend of mine was hooked nonstop for almost three hours (with my 5s) and reached the last stage, of course without any boss fight (you can't repeat them). Ouch, i definitely suck a bit here. Two tips in spoiler, if you want to find out for yourself... Farming orbs and extra lives: Spoiler Desert. Here you'll always get 3 lives and probably the most orbs too Final boss: Spoiler At some point you can't visit the shop anymore. So refill minimum the potions, double jump and the shield at any moment, imho This spoiler is adressed to the not so genious skilled players like me. The final boss must be one of the hardest, longest and most intense one i ever had, sorry, still have in my 6 years of ios gaming. And they call this normal mode...
Been playing for an hour on normal and can not get past the boss on level 2, is there a knack to it? I have found secret area in each level and have the boomerang, but it runs out very quickly. I purchased the balancing weapon thing (not noticed any difference so no idea what that does haha) and while I save it til the boss I get a couple of hits in on the motorbike boss with boomerang it doesn't last anywhere near long enough. Do new weapons become available as you complete levels? And are the gold capsules that drop something to do with weapons? Any tips for killing the motorbike bloke would be great I'd like to be able to replay the boss fight as I'd like to get the achievement of killing one within however long. I can't see me doing that without a few attempts.
If I remember correctly, I just kept shooting and making sure to jump over him. I didn't bother with the boomerang (I really only used it to grab items behind boxes and flip that one switch in the pyramid). It was a drawn out battle, and probably one of the ones I had the most difficulty with as of yet. I also skipped the motorbike enemies and just jumped over them until I got the grenade. Yes, you get an extra weapon/ability/equip after each stage (minus the 8th & presumably 9th). I dunno what the 500 orb weapon thingy does either. The capsules refill whichever weapon is currently equipped.
No tips on the motorcycle boss as I'm in the same boat as you there. As for the weapon balancing thing, it splits the energy cells (the gold things) evenly between all your special weapons. Indicating that there are indeed more weapons along the way. The default for energy restore is to only charge the weapon you have selected. So if you have the time to do so, switch to the weapon you want to charge before picking up the energy cells as it seems the charge will be lost if you have the main weapon selected. The main weapon does not need charging.
Here are the dev's hints on the motorcycle boss from an earlier page, though that's where I'm stuck at the moment too:
Same here. For me, it isn't really reliable when the distance is too long or any of the bosses jumped or moved too fast for/backwards all the sudden. Same goes for the grenades. I fought ALL the bosses with the main gun. I absolutely can rely on, have infinite ammo, no need to pause the game and get distracted from the pattern and the damage seemed about even compared to the others. I was soooo close to finally beat the game. Had him down to two life bars, but i ran out of shields, potions and lives...but maybe he would have respawn once more, lol. Truly an epic endfight in my books.
I encountered a weird bug fighting the twins in the mine. I had the 200 orb item for backing up your health and I ran out...I disappeared but the game kept going, with the last twin still chucking pick axes at me. Now I have to restart the whole level. Has anyone else had issues with this?
You can tap anywhere on the top 2/3 of the screen to switch weapons. Much quicker and less derailing then using pause. Just be careful not to tap the bottom 1/3 as it will press the closest button and probably screw you up.
