For those interested, here is a side by side comparison video of a real Vectrex next to an iCade with a ipad2 running Vectrex Regeneration http://youtu.be/hBljliUwphU I'm pretty pleased with it and the developers have already passed on the next update to Apple.
Whether or not you're being goofy, I should note that on Twitter they said an update was coming to fix it. So do you hate it still?
Problems with Mine Storm Every once in a while Mine Storm glitches out and starts making beeps that cascade down and lines shoot across the screen. Doesn't happen all the time but just so happened after I beat level 13(grrrrrrr). Is this being worked on?
Thank you dogface. I hit the buy button and it indeed prompted that I had already purchased it. Not overly impressed with using the phone as the controller though. Lots o lag! Perhaps they will update with Bluetooth at some point.
External Controller The IAP does unlock the 'external controller' the controls sub menu then has a extra button at the top!
Yeah happens to me too on my iPad 3. Did it once I got to level 2. So shut it down and deleted it from the wiggly area at the bottom and relaunched it but it did it again anyway.
Guys I'm really torn here. I thought the mega pack was gonna be an instabuy (remembering the vectrex as the console the rich kids had) but after playing mine storm it really has aged! Which games do you recommend?
All of 'em! Well maybe minus the sports games which just aren't my thing. I actually think they've aged VERY well but retro arcade-type games might not be for you. Minestorm, Rip-Off, Scramble, Armor Attack, Berzerk, Fortress of Narzod, Solar Quest, Web Wars and Thrust are all top-notch and the rest I haven't even had a chance to play yet And the fact that the devs are active in the forums, making updates and promise to release the rest of the games available, I couldn't throw my money at them fast enough haha. Again though, if you aren't enjoying Minestorm then the rest may not appeal to you.
It's just that mine storm seems to run far faster than I remember it. If you tap the thrust button you fly really fast, so much so that I basically just stay in one place and rotate to shoot! This isn't the experience I remember (like asteroids or super asteroids flying around with wild abandon!). I'm on an ipad 4, would this explain it or is mine storm like this for everybody?

Difference "glow" effect!!! Hallo, is there a difference in the Vector Grafix (glow) effect between ipad 2 and ipad 3 or 4!??? Joe
To me it runs exactly like the original.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jPFGKVyD6E You have to remember many games back then were 'difficult', nowadays games seem so easy, its like they want you to complete the game within a week or so and then buy another one. I tap the thrust button and its not too quick, i wouldnt keep my finger on it. But looking at the original its just the same. Minestorm was a huge hit so i dont think anyone at the time thought it was too fast. To me Minestorm was always a faster/tougher 'brother' of Asteroids.
EDIT: Tried buying the pack this morning and it worked 2nd try. Go figure! OTOH, aside from the diagonal thing, remote control with iPhones/iPods is pretty neat, my daughter and I played for a bit yesterday. Still not as cool as playing on the iCade, but still cool.
I waited anxiously for this to come out, have been dying to play it, can't wait to throw my money at the devs for all the content and games they provide, and.. yeah. iOS 5.1 required. I can't play it, buy anything for it, or anything else because the only way I can upgrade my iOS now is to jump directly to iOS 6, which I've heard is genuinely awful on my device. Is iOS 6 as bad as I've heard on iPod touch 4? What issues does it have? Can anyone help?
