Probably the reason why Sonya and Illidan where my first two go-tos in HotS. But in Vainglory, I just couldn't pass up on a classical assassin. Plus, the "do something sly when yer a fox in a box" quote from the spotlight video sold me So now I've mana to manage again, and a secondary Ki resource to boot... No, and I've a similar feeling they might have overshot just a tad.
Now I feel cheap No, but I'm glad players do! Few developers I'd rather see sustained than Super Evil Megacorp.
I'm going to buy... something! I do want to support them. I was going to just grab $10 of ICE, but some future skin (didn't want these 2) might be a better choice, since ICE can be replaced with Glory. And despite wasting a ton of Glory on Celeste just before they gave her away, I still have quite a stockpile I earn it faster than I spend, since I'm not someone with years of MOBA experience who can master the nuances of every new hero quickly. I have to focus on a fewso I don't buy the rest.
Now that v1.10 has season-end Glory rewards for guild players, it would be even more fun to have a TA guild! And now you can level up your guild with just one guild teammate--you don't need to always find 3 members at once. But now I see they are a little pricey for one person to pay to launch. 300 ICE or 7000 Glory. I have 7000 Glory, but since I just burned 8000 on a Celeste that dropped to 0 soon after, I'm spending cautiously at the moment I still might to do it—if there's enough interest in North America. I should be up front about my play time commitment: there are weeks when I play multiple games every day... and weeks when I take a break. I'm ranked Not Bad, although I'm better than that when not matched solo-against-party. I'm past the early learning phase, but no god, and I don't know every hero. P.S. Public Service Announcement: the daily bonuses cut off at midnight GMT--and the time in the US just changed. In the Eastern US, the cut off was 8pm in the summer. Now it's 7pm for the winter. Don't miss your Sinister Seven thinking you can win at 7:15pm!
Likewise. I think that's a pretty durned good way to enjoy a MOBA (with limited time investment, but also in general) - pick a few favourites and familiarize yourself with that very limited seleciton of heroes, be kind of resonably possibly skilled whenever you do have time to play, since you know those particular few so well (though without the benefits of general familiarity and intimate knowledge of each hero that comes from in-depth MOBAing), and always have so much "left in the bank", so many heroes/so much content still waiting to be discovered and enjoyed, should you ever play enough to grow weary of your current small selection. I wish I could contribute to the ICE costs! I'll gladly join the guild, though! (And in the spirit of up front-ness: I'm new, can make no promises in regards to regular play times thanks to that pesky real life business, and my skill level is a derivative of those two factors )
If more of you were in the EU I'd buy a guild the ICE is nothing, I just purchased the new celeste because I had a few good games with her and I never really need to buy anything from these devs so it's fine giving them money. Your right about getting good with a few select heroes though, I'm pretty good with Krul, Ardan, Celeste, Catherine, Skarrf and Taka but nowhere near expert or anything like that I don't put time into research I just learn what I pick up as I go along. Although I've got all heroes unlocked and know what they all do as I can play them all but am not as keyed up on some for their builds and I always think just buying recommend items will gimp you early and mid game so I hardly ever follow that.
I did, yeah. I couldn't resist the Petal Necromancer fantasy, having played Necromancers almost exclusively in Diablo 2 for like 1 million hours. I hope SEMC doesn't go under or something, I'd feel pretty silly having bought it then.
I seriously doubt it will with how popular it's become and the kind of money that's going into esports for it I think it'll be around for a long time. I did like the look of the petal one especially the minions but I'm not so keen on petal these days, I use to use her back when the game released but when I've tried lately I don't enjoy it too much. I still feel like I'm micromanaging more often than with other heroes. Although I played with a jungle petal and she destroyed everything. Celeste is my favourite laner at the minute so much easier to keep enemies at a distance and to destroy team fights with a well placed star barrage or whatever it's called.
When you're riding around in a flower wearing a pumpkin on your head, feeling silly is a near certainty.
garbui posted on that story that it's a North American guild, and that friending someone in the guild (including MrEFord, case-sensitive) is the first step to join.
Went up a rank and still getting allies that don't know what they are doing. You'd think as you get higher you'd get less morons.
I guess there still just aren't enough total people playing—not at any one time—to allow you to be matched with like teammates consistently. It does seem much better to me this month than last, but still a problem. (What's not better is Ranked. Ouch! People behave terribly, and solos have no chance.) I'd be curious to know what time of day the most people play, because those times of day should have the best matchmaking. (I bet I could find general trends in mobile gaming, but sitting down for a half hour with a hard core MOBA is not the typical mobile gaming scenario. I wonder when people do that? For me, mid to very-late evening.)
I played earlier and lost 3 in a row with terrible team mates, won my 4th and found a great koshka to team with and won the following 3 games with him. It really makes a difference. Had my best ever Cleste game too as I only recently started using her, got 19 kills and 1 death!
Found the [Whoa] Touch Arcade guild! (NA) It looks to be open, so no approval needed to join. 6/20 members. MrEFord is the captain. (Thanks, Eric!) Feel free to friend me (Adams_Immersive) and then once I check in and accept, tap my name in your Friends list and then tap the little banner-icon at top right, to instantly join the guild I'm in. (I don't think you get a notice when I accept the friend request, but just check back in your Friends list and look for me. Luckily A's come first!)
Should almost be an SOP, yet a lot of players neglect to do, IS TO PROTECT YOU DAMAGE DEALER. So many times i die when i play a carry laner (usually a Ringo or a Saw) just because no one wants to stun that friggin Taka (or any of the assassins) when he pops up on me. All it takes is one stun from a teammate for the damage dealer to burst down the assassin, and you already won the teamfight if things were at least even. It's really irritating to see allies run towards trying to chase the enemy tank and leaving the carry behind.
