Congrats to the Vainglory team for the Apple Design Award win. Well-deserved. Amazingly polished games and frequent updates. They are the hardest-working group of devs I have seen.
It's been a while since I played in fact so long that there's now 4 new heroes I think it was but luckily I use to play so much I had enough saved up to buy them all right away. Enjoying the game and the changes I've noticed so far, haven't had much chance to try the new people but fortress seems extremely popular. Just tried my first game with Celeste it started off pretty slow for me but got to be pretty fun! Although so much spam clicking of my first ability while having the clockwork item.
So after some matches my screen just keeps going completely black, plays the sound normally but goes black before I get any rewards or anything from the match which makes me force quit.
I've had the same thing. A black screen, and it was also playing both the song you hear at the end of a match and the main menu song at the same time.
I've actually been wondering, is the skill tier you are in tied to your profile level? Or is it some kind of rating that gets updates after every game? I've only seen it change after i leveled up, so i'm thinking it's tied to that but i'm not sure.
I've been away from the game a while so these levels are new to me. But as far as I'm aware they are based off your skill like your k/d ratio ect not your level. I'm sure someone here knows who's kept up to date with all the info and changes.
Yeah, i thought that sounded more logical too. Altough it only changing whenever i leveled made me doubt it. EDIT: My skill tier just changed from decent-ish bronze to silver, without leveling up. That anwsers that question. I've noticed people expect a lot more of me now aswell. Although i just hate it when people spam the question marks, my fault or not.
This game isn't worth keeping on my phone anymore. Not until they actually develop a sound system that keeps trolls and lack luster and common sense lacking players from being paired together. Feels like the thumbs up system is a placebo to make players think their making a difference in their future game play. I went from bronze hotness to bronze pretty good in one day. 9 out of 10 losses because of afk and lack of team play/selfish decisions. I know this is just a game, but an investment (skill teir, ranking, strategy) none-the-less desires a positive outcome and that just seems too far fetched with the way players are being paired. ***update*** Yes, yes, yes!!! This update is exactly what I was looking for! Great job devs!

I've recently started playing this again. Is anyone else still playing? The new matchmaking system works very well. Also I'm saving for a 6000 glory hero, any suggestions? I've been playing well with Catherine so far, but I'm thinking of branching out from support, maybe get krul for jungle.
I play every day; usually to my 3 wins. Since the update, I play in casual to try new characters and just have fun. Tons of new players since the Android release. If you wanna Jungle, Krul is really good in the current meta. As is Taka and Joule. Glaive is amazing and pretty dominant nowadays. I would avoid Rona (8,000 glory anyways) since most people agree that she needs a bit of a buff. Avoid Petal since although she just got a buff, most think she needs a little bit more. There are some laners that people are using to jungle at high ELO, like Ringo and Celeste, but it is hard to find a solo Q team that understands what you are doing.
Gotcha, thanks for the help! My ign is the same as my TA user if you ever want to play sometime I'll probably go with krul, taka seems really fun but too fragile for me. Meanwhile krul seems pretty indestructible.
I try to play everyday aswell. Doesn't always work out, but i can almost buy my second 6.000 glory hero. Thinking about buying Taka since i had alot of fun with him. Maybe Celeste after that. My favorite part of the game is trying to get good with new heroes, but it takes quite some time to actually buy them. Taka is an assasin. Krul is a warrior. So yeah, that makes sense.
I played every day for months, got weary of too few matches being "fun," took a break months ago, and just returned. (Sucker for that triple Glory!) My first game back was rough—I have forgotten a lot, plus I now have to spend 2–4 extra seconds in the Shop every time, which enrages my teammates and they ping-spam me until I get out of the Shop. But it got fun again rapidly after that. I'm not sure whether it's changes to the matchmaker, or the fact that I can't yet play outside Casual, or maybe a larger playrbase, but I'm certainly sensing a trend toward better matchups. I don't think I've had a single "landslide" win or loss yet. (Close matches are always more fun!) I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll stick around again! But since I'm not a MOBA veteran, I'll focus on just a few characters. Ringo, Koshka, Joule and Celeste. (I don't really get what "Casual" means... it can't mean that your rank is not being tracked, because otherwise how would it be matching skill levels? Does Casual just mean it uses a separate, independent rank--not displayed, and not affecting your displayed rank, merely used for Casual matchmaking?)
I tried to add you but it says you weren't in my region. I am in NA. You? 1.6 is the most balanced meta they have released yet. No hero is very OP (although it may seem that way at certain tiers), and only a few really need a buff (mostly people agree on Rona, Petal, Skaarf, wp SAW). The combination of a balanced meta and more players (they announced over 1.5 million active users around the time of the Android launch( means that the match maker is more accurate. The ping spamming is the biggest irritant for me, and many players, and is supposed to be addressed further in the next patch. Meanwhile, you can do what I do, and thumbs down them after the match (win or lose) for toxic behavior/trolling. Ringo, Koshka, Joule and Celeste are all A+ in this patch. In fact, the World Invitational in South Korea is being broadcast right now, and all of them except Joule are VERY popular picks for the highest players. Lastly, casual queue gives you everything (karma, glory, random cards) that ranked queue does EXCEPT you don't rank up your official tier. Because of this, I sit at SA Bronze permanently since I currently have more fun, and less stress, in casual. There is a hidden casual ELO rank that tries to get you into good matches. Usually you can find a match in casual in about 1.5 minutes, but in high tier ranked, I have heard of 10+ minute queues...
Awesome, that sounds like a great system. Congrats to SEM for evolving it to get to this stage! I can see myself staying with Casual as well. It's hard to compare, but I seem to see LESS obnoxious behavior than I used to see when it was only Ranked. (Less ping-spamming, less AFK, less pouting at home base.) But that could well have improved for Ranked too, I just haven't unlocked that yet. (Odd--after months of daily play, you'd think I'd qualify for Ranked right away! But I'm not sure I care...) I thin the pings could be improved by some very specific situational messages. Things people are always trying to convey but it's a puzzle few solve: - Take Miner Camp? (Then repeat this to ask laner whether to they want the other camp.) - Take Miner Camp! - Don't Take Miner Camp! - Guard Home! (late in game) - Gaurd Lane! (when laner has to go home) - Guard Kraken! (people use other pings for this, but they could equally mean Stay Away or Attack Kraken) - Attack Kraken? - Attack Gold Mine? Etc.
When I saw that this game is in the top 150 grossing in SK, it kind of made me want to play. My problem with the NA servers, was that they were kind of empty
Loved the game so far but only problem is sometimes the waiting time for a match takes wayyyy too long. Not sure if it's internet connection but still has awesome gameplay and good character designs.
