Not really sure how your response is relevant, but no. Just looking through this thread and noticed this crap

Scary guns must still be in high school, and gets picked on. Seriously, everything you wrote screams low self-esteem, so I compensate in video games.

Agreed that Ringo is best staying in the lane, BUT he can take a minion mine in no time flat, late in the game, so if you know one isn't guarded (flare to be sure) it's a useful detour to make when your jungler is busy elsewhere.

I use Ringo's recommended build about half the time, but I also use the following (expanded on top of a crystal build you can find in the VG wiki):

    Alternating Current
    Shatterglass
    Clockwork
    Journey Boots
    Crucible
    Eve of Harvest

You start out weak. You pretty much have to hide by a turret doing nothing until minions come to you; especially if the enemy has a SAW. Early on against SAW you won't be strong enough to do much but waste time respawning and walking. So farm minions, use Achilles Shot defensively, and bide your time. I let enemy heroes attack me a little without fighting back much (unless they're injured): I don't let them kill me, but by taking jabs at me they're wasting time not farming while I AM farming, and they're letting my side have more minions survive. Eventually, you'll be very strong (abilities especially), so you can flee/kite less: it wastes time you could spend doing damage.

Whichever Ringo build I use, I usually choose Swift Shooter and Twirling Silver first, for easier farming. And as soon as I have money to spend but can't afford my next big upgrade, I go for the basic Sprint Boots. Only 300 gold, but they can save your life. (But don't forget that Twirling Silver is another way to make a getaway--it's not just for rapid fire.)

Take with salt: I'm still learning!

I'm not going to respond to Scary as I'm not here to argue, life's too short but congrats on the win.

Anyway yes there are plenty of builds out there for each hero, you can find them on the Vainglory website or search online I'm sure. With Ringo to buy me a bit of time I always pick the cripple shot as the first skill I unlock, it has much better range than anything else so can help you chip away at enemy heroes so they stay back a bit more sometimes.

Do you know about overdrive abilities for skills? Overdrive is just what they call maxing out a skill as you can only do 2 of the three.

When I was very new, trying to come up with my own builds had poor results! So I stuck with the recommended for a while, and then variations on builds I found at Vaingloryfire. Mixing Weapon and Crystal upgrades is tricky because then it's hard max out either one.

But now I've felt comfortable trying my own original builds, with ALL crystal and NO defense, plus boots. Current experiment--so far so good:

    - Shatterglass (stronger abilities)

    - Sprint Boots (emergency getaways; this is the ONLY active item you have to deal with in this build)

    - Clockwork (stronger abilities + faster cooldown/recharge)

    - Eve of Harvest (stronger abilities + more energy/recharge + life steal)

    - Journey Boots (upgraded Sprint Boots + extra health/regen + armor + shield)

    - Frostburn (stronger abilities + more energy/recharge + slows enemies)

    - And one slot left for consumables like land mines (put one high up right by the kraken as an enemy-detector) and minion candy.

    - Or, if you have gold to spare, Crystal Infusion seems like a good buy: for 500 gold you get a three-minute upgrade to numerous stats: stronger abilities + faster cooldown + armor + shield.

    Explore all the upgrades here:

I mostly stick to weapon builds. Any good opponent will usually build an Aegis to counter pure crytal and almost nullify your burst.

The only crystal build I do is for Taka (him being a burst assassin). My aim with Crystal Taka is to get burst kills in the mid game, so that I can set back my opponents' farm. If for any reason I am unable to assassinate them and they are able to build Aegis, then I am pretty useless to the team late-game.

Crystal Ringo and crystal Glaive are great in theory. But if you go down that road and say you can't hold your turret, then the blame falls squarely on you for running a risky early-game strategy and failing :)

I'm actually really fond of Petal. Cute but now that I've figured out how to use her best she kicks some a$$.
I'm having a really bad time with lag for some reason today. Giving me flashbacks of the ping in pocket legends. My network is fine so I'm guessing it's the game.

One tiny thing I do realize is that there's no reason to be in the jungle in the beginning. When two of my team go there then I get three or two on me I'm in trouble. So that bits a tad frustrating. I kind of want to yell "don't go there!" from the get go. Then when the mines come on for one to go at least until we are all leveled up. I played with a great guy two of us on 3 because our teammate stopped and we won just because we stuck together. Just something I noticed.

I still am not keen on petal and that's the only hero that I never really use. But like someone else said lately I don't use any defence items, some are pretty good but others? An extra item would do more damage than the defence protects anyway.

I did go through a spate of using two clock works on some heroes, had saw using explosive rounds constantly and Ringo using the fire breath the same which was really fun.

But yes I agree it annoys me so much when you start a game and people don't go where they should, like a Krul trying to lane and saw in the forest. By that I mean from the start and staying there, especially annoying is when they kill mobs your already fighting! Makes me want to kill them more than the enemy.

I'm still playing around with her build but I definitely do the clockwork route as one. I've been playing around with the others so far in addition. Eve works well I noticed. Anything to get her minions out faster is best. Once I level her up enough and have her little things full leveled up too she's really good. I tried Adagio today. He's more difficult and a more stand back kind of character. I'm trying to get used to that but it's not easy. He's best just supporting the team.

No matter what, I'm at the point where I can tell who's new at the game and who knows it. I get frustrated but then I have to remember that I had no clue what I was doing either in the begining. ^.^

Krul is awful in lane! It's super easy for me to kill him if he ventures out. But, if I went into the forest most likely he would kill me there. The way the characters are really have a certain purpose now I see it.

Still, losing is tough on the karma. \o/

Oh, and a trick with petal to avoid getting killed is just placing down tons of flowers. I always have somewhere to run and it helps the team. Looks messy but it works. Literally I'll leave a trail.

I just get bored with petal placing the seeds and summoning the pets and keeping them alive but I have seen people do great with her.

Adagio is pretty awesome, I use to play him a lot but you need decent players to support. He can win games as you keep your team in the fight for longer by healing them and chip away at enemy health with the arcane fire also. There's a few tricks you'll pickup that make him really good and help you win more but you'll never be top kills but you can do pretty good kill wise still with the right items and ability use.

I agree about the seeds and in the beginning she is slow slow slow to get going. It can get tedious. But, once I have her leveled a bit I can snipe people and chase which makes her more interesting. It took me time to get her to be where I like her. Adagio I have to practice on and the two teams I used him with one guy kept teleporting out to heal even at half health. Drove me nuts but I managed to hold the line for a bit alone. He is definitely a harder character to use. I also enjoy Skaarf but again he is very precise and if you don't have a good support he's easy to kill. I've had great runs with him and awful ones. Both him and adagio are a work in progress. ^.^

Glad to hear you mixing it up, I just let everyone else chose and then I pick since I'll play anyone. Mainly though in no particular order I go for Krul, taka, adagio, saw, Skarrf, Ringo and anyone else I use but not as much as its only petal I rarely touch.

Skarrf is pretty great but very squishy so you do need to be careful as you said, he's pretty good at running off from some people but others not so much. I've killed so many people while running away from them due to the abilities. It's funny to see the chaser change sides and I always target anyone that stacks health items!

Ha! I also love the chaser switcharoo. That happens to me with Skaarf and Petal a lot too. The only character I don't touch is Catherine. She bores me the most. The worst about her if I get someone who really doesn't know how to use her well it's as if we are 2v3.
I started trying out SAW today. He's so slow. But high damage for sure. I have some getting used to with him too.

Skaarf wins for cuteness. He's like the big chunky dragon baby twirling around.

I'm not to keen on Catherine either her and joule get used but not as much, Catherine I thought needed a buff and she got a slight nerf instead.

Saw was very overpowered in my opinion so they changed him, but he is still extremely powerful but trades the movement for that....sometimes it doesn't matter because you can wipe all 3 enemies anyway and he's great if you add in a good Adaigo. I enjoy saw he can be pretty fun but due to the lack of movement when I die because I can hardly move I get irritated so I like Ringo and scarrf a little more but because of his power I still use him a fair bit.

Edit: Just thought I'd edit and say I just give petal another try and it wasn't prolific killing but I got 10 kills and 0 deaths and it was pretty fun so I'll give it more of a try now. Good in the lane and was taking the gold mine and minion mines alone as allies were no help, any advice on items for petal? Kept making a base filled with seeds in the forest to run back to, to fight too.

Sorry to double post, just checked facebook and seen a news post off Vainglory saying new year new heroes with 3 new heroes coming! The only thing that could be better than that for me would be 3 heroes and a map though.

There's a short story that says it has hints in it for what's coming, I've got maybe a clue for one or two. But I'm guessing the news is probably posted when I launch the game anyway.

From the get go I do barbed needle so she gets health regen aside from the flowers which vanish. It lets me stay and hold the line longer if I'm on my own. I don't usually go back to upgrade unless I die or if someone is holding the line for me.

And I'm no expert but i tend to play around with the eve of harvest build or sometimes serpent mask. I usually only have a second to decide so I kind of do it fast.

For sure I do clockwork, and the shoes for speed. That way I'm always spamming minions and able to run if I have to. I never give her armor since it seems a waste. And I will sometimes do dragon heart if we have enough money. I'll also do the recommended if there's really tons of money left over.

ETA: I wish for a new map too! More so than the characters. I'm still learning the ones they already have. ^.^

Oh, I also upgrade her minions the most and some flower power, not really the special since it's so hit or miss. If you use it and you minions are dead it's useless anyway. I get 50/50 out of it so I don't bother upgrading and wasting it.

So far I've been mainly building the recommended and abilitiy item builds along with things I want sometimes, it's worked out pretty well but I'm really starting to hate Glaive when I play petal, it's annoying how he kls your minions when he isn't even targetting them thanks to his heroic power. Also annoys me playing as Skarrf against petal as the fireballs hit the seeds too and there can be so many like a wall.

I know all the charachters but far from a pro with them all but still excited for more new ones but yes I hope after this they focus on adding another map or two....maybe because the chsrachters cost and encourage IAP whereas maps would probably have to be free.

Not sure if this a bot but I just fight against a Saw that never use his ulti ever during the entire game. Also the way he move and attack simultaneously is impossible for human to do. I mean sure you can orb-walk on PC but the iPad there is no way you can tap so precise and fast like that

I can orb walk on the ipad just fine. I usually do it with Ringo... And i do it when jungling just so i could get from camp to camp faster.

Attack cancelling is a lot easier on touch IMO.
