    Hi all,

Is it possible to setup a new iPhone 3GS (which I assume runs 3.0 out of the box -- please correct me if im wrong) from an iPod Touch 2G backup running 2.2.1?

My friend is upgrading his iTouch to 3GS and would like to keep all his iTouch settings and all the application data.

    Thanks,

    Prab

Well, that's because it's jailbroken. Use the official firmware, then if something happens, you can always go whining to Apple saying that you should get a brand new device for compensation. :D

lol... it is official firmware. and the backup did work, kinda. I synced my apps (something that happened auto last time I restored from a backup) and all the progress was there
    randomly..
