Looks very interesting, tempted but its a little pricey.

Shame theres no trial or light version, that could convince me to buy.

Does anyone know if this comes with the downloadable expansion? I don't even know where my CD-ROM is located, but IIRK the bundled package was called Uplink: Hacker Elite.

Wow this is THE best hacker game EVER!

I can't believe it snuck into the AppStore so quietly, which actually makes me a little sad as it should get major exposure, this is a brilliant, classic game! If you never played it before, don't hesitate, just get it!

I bought it already for PC but I'd simply support the devs in hoping they would one day consider porting Defcon which is an amazing multiplayer RTS which I think would fit perfectly on the iPad. I've also been following Introversion, the devs, over the years, I'm a fan :) , and they always made fantastic games but regrettably ran into problems over the last couple of years. I do hope they find a welcoming home on iOS, they so definitely deserve it.

Me too - big fan! And I'm also really surprised this came from nowhere.

Are they still working on Subversion or is that the one they ran into problems with? That was shaping up to be really interesting so I hope they can carry on!

Latest news was they stopped work on that again but like a phoenix rising from the ashes, a new game 'Prison Architect' is made out of that and an early build has since been submitted to IGF.

Prison architect looks pretty cool too but it was the dynamic city generation stuff that had got me really excited in Subversion... I can see how that whole project was a huge undertaking though so if they can build towards it by releasing separate games for different aspects of what they were working on then I'm all up for supporting them get there!

Another call for Defcon for iPad here though, if you are listening guys! :D

    Hi all,

So I have a quick question here. I finished the tutorial, and then went for a mission of stealing data from an enemy company. I accessed the servers, but somehow the expected file isn't there. I tried to reconnect several times, but to no avail.

Is this normal, from those of you who have played the game before, or is this a bug?

    Cheers,

    Paulo

Sadly, they've pretty much canceled Subversion: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/introversion/viewtopic.php?t=2967

Excited to see Uplink again though. Should be fun!

Ooh, wow, I haven't played this game for years. I can't believe it was released with zero fanfare.

    Off to buy!

Yes, totally worth the,... $4 again. I got it when it was released first for $30
then on Steam, via various bundles etc.
And this is actually the only game I wish it had some kind of MMO mode.
May like uploading servers-puzzles for everybody to try and hack or find or something.
