The Witness! By Johnathan Blow. 'nuff said. ...even though it might not manage to make it out this year. :/
John Blow, creator of Braid. The Witness looks like a mix of everything I love: first person puzzling, amazing art direction, mysterious and contemplative atmosphere, and mazes. Really really really hoping for a late 2015 release, but highly doubt it, given how many delays things like this have. http://the-witness.net/news/

Tiny Dangerous Dungeons by Adventure Islands 2nd April 2015 Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Eh, it's just one of those weeks where people say a ton of good games are released, but there is actually nothing good.
I meant this week, not this day. LOL The Quest Keeper, Tiny Dangerous Dungeon, Attack the Light, Corridor Z and Magic Rampage look like a pretty solid lineup to me.
I've been noticing that the quality of game design doesn't scale with what the technology allows, infact it has gotten even worse in a lot of cases. A lot of the resources are spent on quality graphics these days and even worse; on marketing. A lot of developers think they can just get away by copying a design of a previous sucessful game, but of course even a slight adjustment to that game's design can break the game completely and it just ends up feeling off. Don't get me wrong though, there are still games with good design out there, but mostly in the form of "mini-games". A lot of the developers who make big games simply don't seem to know what to do with the game. They become slaves to the scale of the game as without a real vision, the scope of the game is the only thing they've got going for them, but ultimately it only results in a mediocre experience. And lets not forget the negative results the increasingly popular free to play payment system has brought. A few years back it was just this weird blob sticking to the game, but nowadays games get designed with the "enjoyable" experience of buying gems from the ground up. And we can only imagine how that impairs the game designer's original vision for the game. Now all that coupled with the fact that I'm allergic to certain sub-genres, certain art styles and note that even original "mini-games" don't impress me that much, yes, I'd say I'm strict and I'll rarely call a game "good". I'm here for the handful of good games that get released each year and this year seems to be going to be an exceptionally good one. TL;DR: Yes.
