Hi everyone. My name is Eric Kinkead and I have been making a game called QuestLord 2. This is not a corporate company game, it is a solo work and sequel to my previous game QuestLord. It is very much like in the golden early days of mobile gaming when one or only a handful developers worked on a project. Please excuse me, I don't follow everything exactly according to script or protocol mainly because I wear so many hats. This isn't a call for testers, although I might expand my test base a little on the upcoming weekend, we'll see. The game will be at a premium price point of $6.99 and is shooting for a December 18th release. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel *Note*: You do not need have QuestLord to play QuestLord 2. During development of QuestLord 2, the original iOS version of QuestLord became outdated and unfortunately is not available for most iOS devices. After wrapping up QuestLord 2, I plan to rerelease the original QuestLord for iOS. However It is still available for Android and Amazon devices, and again QuestLord 2 is a new independent game. Features for QuestLord 2 include: +Strafing movement +Dawn, Day, Night, and Dusk +5 different Lore types, each with their own 6 Skills & various Crafting abilities +Hundreds of Non Player Characters to interact with in a variety of ways +Pets that can give the player a heads up display map +Ability to write notes on a map +3 game save slots to play the main story arch Adventure +QuickGame, a roguelike random map game that quickly takes you into the action +Tons of Quests and places to explore and much more! I hope to be able to answer any questions or comments, again I wear so many hats and I am so busy atm please be patient with me. Thank you very much!
I absolutely loved the first Questlord and played it through several times. Can't wait for this to drop.
Good old-fashioned dungeon crawling. Gotta love that. If the test base expands, I am ready to lend a helping hand. Let us know.
Will there be an iPad version? I have the original on my old iPad 3 (iOS9) but it’s way too pixelated to enjoy.
So, I’ve played through The Quest Deluxe Edition, but didn’t enjoy it enough to buy more expansions and keep playing. This is kind of similar in appearance. Can anyone who has played the first QuestLord tell me a bit more about whether this is very different from The Quest in terms of how it plays?
Ah, that's a bummer. But it's okay. Better to work on it longer and get everything right than to launch it and deal with a game-breaking bug; not to mention all the hate from the fans and people who purchased it. Best of luck with the work and hope you can sort it out. Take your time. We, as fans, would rather wait longer than play a broken product.
Good call, Dev. Always enthusiastic about the prospect of a new launch / decent premium game, but better to get it right than to get it quickly!
Any idea on new release date? bug must have been pretty intense or just coordinating a new good release date?
