    Hi!

We are Daikonsoft, a small indie game development studio consisting of three people in Tokyo currently finalizing our first game. We can't disclose details such as name and screenshots just yet, but will do so shortly. The game itself is more or less finished in terms of engine and mechanics, think somewhere in the realms of Jubeat meets Ouendan, and you're not too far off. Our aim is to release the game before the end of the year.

We've already licensed a bunch of tracks, hand picked by us because:
    1. We wanted a good mix of musical genres.
    2. They are really fun to play.
    3. A lot of the music games for ios don't even have a tracklist (either just fragmented DLC or poor auto-generated charts). We want to set a higher standard for the competitive aspect of the game. As well as making sure that every song actually works well in our game with well thought out note charts.
It's still a bit too early for us to tell more precise details about the tracklist just yet.

Since we are huge fans of music/rhythm games ourselves, we are very thrilled with what we have achieved thus far. Our humble goal is to provide a solid music game experience that is thightly integrated with the community. However, to achieve this we need you, the players, to contribute with ideas and opinions!

What would you want in an ideal music game in terms of functionality?
What are the most important aspects in a music game to you?
Also, if you have any other suggestions, please let us know. We'll be monitoring this thread carefully and will respond swiftly to any feedback.

It goes without saying, but the single most important thing in a music game is the music : D

Bemani succeed without huge licensed titles like those of Rock Band and Guitar Hero because the songs were fantastic.

Also, the songs need to be tailored to the gameplay. I like listening to Peter Kater, but his stuff isn't exactly suited to a music game.

I'll provide more suggestions by PM.

Thanks for your feedback. We agree that the music is the most important part. That's why we are thrilled to already have a bunch of great licensed songs that we feel work very well in a music game.
