So, in the next two weeks, Gamescom (22/08 to 25/08) and PAX Prime (30/08 to 2/09) will take place. Obviously, at this point, the X-Box One and the Playstation 4 will be the main focus of any gaming conference worth its salt, but I wonder, is there any point in anticipating any major game announcements for iOS? Are any of these venues typically associated with major showings of iOS games by major developers (i.e. Gameloft, Ubisoft, EA, 2K)?

I'm only asking since, in the eyes of someone who's in touch with what happens on the iOS landscape but who's also quite aware of the types of games he's interested in, whenever these major gaming conferences take place, there are reports on several games by indie devs but very few major big-name announcements. I'm sure there are exceptions (after all, XCOM was announced during PAX in March), but my general opinion is that we get more announcements randomly during the course of the year than we do during these conferences...
