I have reuploaded the same screenshots after spending 3.4 seconds to rotate them. You are welcome. Inotia 3 for comparison: The UI looks horrible to be honest. The iPhone has a large screen area with touch controls, use it! The pixel art does tend to look slightly less blurry than usual. EDIT: I uploaded Inotia 3 screenshots for comparison just to see the real difference. Wild Frontier might be sharper, but that is because they zoomed out the pixels more where Inotia 3 appears to have zoomed in quite a bit, which explains why it might appear to be have looked more blurry. The UI though, in Inotia 3 is light years ahead of other ARPGs on the app store. Just look at the mini-map in Inotia 3, everything is clearly visible.
Yes, please add more pictures if you can, because they are the only thing keeping me content not being able to beta test.
Inotia 3's UI is highly responsive and customizable, Wild Frontier's is better than most but it is no where near Inotia's. I have emailed Allstar that the buttons could be spread out a little more and a bit more responsive. But I actually think the responsiveness is because the gameplay requires chains to unlock certain moves and the buttons don't pick them up right away.
I am still getting further in the game. It is brilliant! RPG fans have to get this game once it is released.
I'm really looking forward to this one! Hope that release date is soon. @JoeyLP and others: so am i right in thinking that bosses in this game have 'readable' patterns, and even after level grinding, they might still be unbeatable unless you can predict and evade their attacks? If so, it's definitely giving that 'monster hunter' vibe that has been commented on already. I'll definitely be picking this up on release.
Still beatable if you don't know the pattern. But potions cost a lot and if you die and do not have a first aid kit you end up loosing a large amOunt of money. Which can set you back! Just got shoot and realized it and another ability can be held down to charge up for huge amounts of damage! The stun attack charge does sooooo much it isn't even funny.
@jsrco: thanks for the info! It does definitely sound like there's a skilled- play element involved, which i like a lot. I'm getting more excited for this game's release, which i don't do very often!
I sent in my form too early. Now I'm finding a lot of dialogue errors. Lol. The first quest when you get to Zemu village is a jumble
I have resent them a few emails already. Just send it in again. I have found a few hiccups here and there with translations.
Yah that's what I've been doing. Hopefully it doesn't slow them down at all. I want this game to be released soon. I did find a bug that helped me out a lot. When fighting the Chimera it get stuck to certain areas near the wall. When this happened I could just stand there and beat it with my maul. lol
Ok some further into the game impressions. Right about the time you start to figure out there may be going on with the island than there appears, the leveling hits a lot slower of a pace. Its not bad at all but the beginning I feel was more like a spoon fed fast forward to get you introduced to the mechanics. It is by no means grindy, but I put all of my points in STR and Dex. I have about 900ish health and the enemies only hit for 30 - 100 but the crits in this game can slaughter you. On the flip side to health... I have 79 sp. Which means I go through one chain combo and pot up, which is incredibly pricey in a game that doesn't doll out the money quick to begin with. What I am getting too is that this might not be the game were you invest in one stat. With the crit, strat to combat, and elemental / weather elemental attacks - enemies can kick your butt. Top it off with the fact that some of the scenery can actually allow enemies to hide in it, you can easily be overwhelmed. I am loving it, but this probably will not be as causal for most players. I am about to get to the second dungeon in game, and while the pacing has slowed down, the combat continues to grow on you. When it actually gets around to implementing the shooting mechanics (which are incredibly fun to play with) and the gear switching ability, you can really do some fun stuff. I might set up an attack like so - charged up (aimed shot) to pull, then hit with a 2h mace to knock and enemy back / lower its d, then gear switch ability to change to a 2h axe - higher crit - and finish the chain off with a high damage finisher. Some people will take a bit to realize that shoot and a few other abilities can be held down to charge up. When I say it is harder, I am not pumping this game up, it is by no means extremely difficult. But it is a lot harder than most apps on the tore.Because of this increased difficulty I spend a lot more time back tracking (sadly there is no fast travel to previous villages - but the travel allows you to hunt) to hunt older monsters to get ingredients for your gear drop recipes and most importantly the cook book. That damn cook book is awesome. It has food that for a certain time can increase hp regen, stun chances, crit chances, immunities - etc. You will need those for the dungeons and when you get to someplace and night time hits. Even if you are a higher level that most monsters - at night later in game they can work you over pretty good if they land hits. They also start giving you debuffs and stunning you to chain their attacks. The elemental effects also suck... nothing like being chased by a lot of fast monsters that can ice you down to a slow crawl.
Hmm, tres interessant- so there's a shortcut button to switch gear without having to enter the menu each time? (Sorry if that got asked already...)
That's what I am not a fan of. I don't really like In-App Purchases, but I guess when it comes to RPG games they'll all have them. This game is so awesome. LOL. Can't stop saying it. Has it finished? I am waiting to see if my reply was iTunes Card worthy.
yah, i agree. some items are pretty expensive. Luckily the game is great even without purchasing paid items. My only major complaint right now is the tiny d-pad. It gets difficult to move when mobs of stupid dorr start chasing you. lol
