you guys all need to play the english patched God Eater then see if monster hunter keeps u up at night! im trying to get this in the app store and no luck...i keep searching with the search bar and two games come up and there not this...is it out?
There is actually another shop in that village that opens up after you do the first story quest. I actually had no grinding and plenty or rare gear up until about 1/2 of the way through. The only reason I had to grind there is becuase I wanted to try and get some better gear early on. But you do get rare weapons and armor and even set pieces without the IAP. I am guessing that a lot of people will complain about the grinding becuase they don't understand the combat mechanics and chain / finisher system. But you are right, I will point out some of the negatives too: -No fast travel between villages and some of the quest require a lot of backtracking and re fighting of old bosses. -When you have to travel through an area were a boss is (and you will) you are forced to fight the boss. This gets very annoying because they have large amounts of HP and sometimes will land lucky crits that can still one shot you even when you are a higher level than them. -Named monsters have ridiculous scales of difficulty. -Game becomes unforgiving later on making you not venture out if the weather is bad or it is night time. and my biggest one -The controls. They work fine but you will have to learn timing for the combat and finisher chains. It also doesn't explain at all that some abilities can be held down to charge up. But because of this you actually have to take a finger off of the dpad to get the buttons to respond. Allstar was made aware of this so it will be interesting to see if they continue to be helpful and address this issue. So far they have shown to be very responsive to inquires that are directed to the right email address.
The game is not out yet, people are saying that the US release is tomorrow (January 31st), at some point. Depending on your time zone you might have to wait during the 31st.
The first mini boss is the little dog thing on the hill, after u beat that head north and from the hill and look for the next town. Talk to the people there and the boss should be in the top right area of the map. I think this is what you are looking for
Yes that shop did open up after the quest and I remember breathing a sigh of relief. I am glad that you pointed out some of the negatives too because being too much of a fanboy about the game misleads potential customers. (and as you saw some people got suspicious of all the positive only posts) I hope they did address some of those issues because the controls were confusing at first. And yes they were responsive to certain issues. I hope they got some of my typo screenshots because there was still some Korean on signs and some misspelling of words that I hope they changed. They didn't reply to those.
thanks man! fast reply any other good games you enjoy along the krpg vein i believe i may have tried most of them ...but you never know also how about turn based strategy? most of those apps seem a bit underdone..then again im sure i wont find disgaea of fftactics epic gameplay on a ios app...or will i?
The Korean cookie cutter rpgs just keep a comin'...at first it was great, new rpgs...but I'm starting to have mixed feelings...
While this one has flaws like I stated... I will not be purchasing anything from Gamevil Com2US and others unless they seriously up their quality. The inclusion of the day and night cycles and the requirement of actually learning combat (not leveling till you get a screen clearing skill) have made this far superior over anything that has been put out before.
Funny: I thought that the inclusion of a story that was actually comprehensible and characters one could care about made Inotia 3 better than other KRPGs in the App Store. Guess my priorities are different. Still looking forward to this, though, even if the reviews in the Korean App Store are brutal (the most recent version has a 2 star average).
Now that you mention it, it does have a very low rating over there (2 stars average on latest version, 17 votes, and I'd believe that the second rating is for all the versions: 3 stars, 121 votes).
You have to take App Store reviews with a grain of salt -- there's some great games with fairly low ratings. Also, high difficulty can also elicit low reviews (from casual gamers who got it "by mistake"). But obviously not everyone thinks this is the "Best RPG on iDevice."
My bad for exagerating " BEST RPG ON IDEVICE" it's my opinion only. I have edited my first post and i apologize fir being so much of a fan boy. Hehe. But for whatever its worth, this games doesn't hurt for a $0.99 RPG game.
I agree; I felt Inotia 3 was a great improvement over the second one and honestly reigned supreme for iOS KRPGS. Sadly, a two star and even 3 star review nearly always means the game is a total mess. If it was decent, it would have at least a fan following the could boost the average rating to at least 3.5 stars, which is generally the cut off line for me. I always take the average of all versions into much greater consideration since that better reflects the true population proportion of people's ratings for the game, and rarely, if ever, will you find a decent game with an average rating for all versions to be even as low as 3 stars. Not feeling the hype anymore.
I've has this discussion with Gabrien in the past -- it's just two different (and valid) perspectives on RPG gaming. That's why I try to stay away from "Best RPG" discussions .
Despite the reviews, this is probably worth checking out at its price of $0.99 though if you're a fan of KRPGs. I know I'll be buying it.
