I'm confused, I though Aralon was the best RPG on iDevice?!? What is the meaning of this? (Seriously, I am looking forward to the Wild Frontier release... but is it really as good as the hype?)
It depends on what kind of RPG you are looking for. If you have ever played Monster Hunter and enjoyed it, then this is going to be the game for you.
It looks like something in the Zenonia/Seed mold? Tons of grinding, fetch quests, 4-way directional movement, and lots of button mashing? I haven't played Monster Hunter, but I have heard people speak very positively about it. I have no idea what the gameplay consists of though.
I don't know much about it either, but people have said that you can train pets, which I always find fun in RPGs.
Comparing it to something as huge as monster hunters is big, but there better be multiplayer involved!
Yeah, what makes it like Monster Hunter, which I love? The other KRPGs are really nothing like the MH series and not sure I want to buy another, but I am intrigued if this one is.
i am a fans of monster hunter. monster hunter is one of the best game ever made. it is heavily action base rather than rpg elements and mutliplayer mode made this game shines, it is really fun to hunt a gaint monster with 3 friends. and wild frontier? it looks nothing near monster hunter. it is purely insult for monster hunter.
Unfortunately there is no form of multiplayer. But, that is one of thing that I suggested as a future update. In terms of gameplay, one of the coolest things that I found was the ability to craft weapons and armor out materials that you harvest from monsters that you killed. Of course you need to acquire the recipes first. Also, you can tame almost any small monster out there. This includes dragons and invisible bats lol. The main reason that people are comparing it to monster hunter is probably the large game world, in-depth gameplay and immense level of customization. Also the fact that you are "hunting monsters" is similar. Another cool thing that is similar to monster hunter is that you can put runes into your weapon and armor to increase certain abilities (eg. health regen, auto repair). also, your armor and weapon durability decreases over time. you can use a pocket grindstone to repair them, just like the whetstones in monster hunter.
This is the best action rpg on the store. It looks sharper and plays better than all of them. Its similar to monster hunter becuase of the way uou get new gear. You have to hunt monsters and gather ingredients for it. Short story.... get this now.
First of all, Monster Hunter will be the bane of your existence. I've been gaming seriously for 18 years or so. monster Hunter portable and Midnight Club Los Angeles are the two hardest modern-era video games I have ever played. If you are even remotely a noob, Monster Hunter will embarrass, humiliate, and destroy you. Second, you cannot compare an 8/16-bit, retro-style, Korean, sprite-based, grind-fest action-RPG (obviously, that is what this is) with Monster Hunter. That is ridiculous. I absolutely hate the over-saturated genre, myself. Then again, I never understood people's love of Zelda. And I've gaming since the days when you could purchase the original NES Zelda brand new in the stores.
That game is the reason I cry at night. On a different note I'm looking forward to this (I'm a masochist like that)!
Ok well here's my review _______________________________ Wild Frontier: This is as close as you can get to Monster Hunter for iPhone. With as many action rpgs as there are on the app store, they can get boring and redundant after a while. But, with Wild Frontier there is a whole new world of customization and depth. Gameplay: Wild frontier's gameplay is largely similar to that of Monster Hunter. You can make all sorts of weapons and armor out of materials that you collect from slain monsters. Furthermore, you can even put runes that you can also collect from killed monsters into your armor and weapons. These runes increase certain stats (eg. health regen, auto repair) and are valuable assests in the game. Another great aspect of the game is the ability to go where you want when you want and unleash the inner explorer in you. This allows for a much longer playtime than just a linear campaign. I have enjoyed spending days (in terms of in-game-time. Yes there is a day/night cycle) out in the wild killing whatever I want. You dont need to have a quest to kill things, you can kill things for any reason, whether it be for materials or for fun. *Another thing to note is that you can tame any small. Pet that you can find in the wild. After taming a monster it will follow you around and depending on its class will do one or more things: loot, attack, or defend. These pets can be valuable assets to you and look cool at the same time (at least some of them do). If you get bored of a pet you can always get rid of it and tame a new one (as long as youve got taming kits). Overall Wild Frontier has been THE most enjoyable action rpg on the app store so far. The level of customization is beyond anything out there and it will keep you coming back for more. Also with four character classes it will take you even longer to play through the gsme with all of them. Long story short, you are not going to want to miss out on the Wild Frontier train. (I think there is going to be Wild Frontier 2?) Go get wild frontier today
Have you played this game yet? Also, ive put in time with monster hunter and in no way does this game include everything that monster hunter has. All im saying is that its pretty damn similar. Anyways you are what ur username is. Lol
