    Hey Everyone!

To celebrate the inclusion of Up There, our runaway app store hit, in the first and only iPhone App T-Shirt Site (www.AppTees.com), I'm going to give away 6 copies of Up There! (US itunes account holders only, unfortunately.)

The rules of the game are simple. All you have to do is write a haiku about a balloon (or balloons) and post it on this thread. I'll pick the best 5 poems, as well as 1 randomly selected winner, and private message the Promo Code to them. You have 24 hours (Ending at 10 PM Eastern Time tomorrow Feb 17th) to get your poem in. And please, one entry per person. If you want to change your poem, just edit your post.

Best of luck! Get those thinking hats on, and buy an Up There shirt!

    I'll start the ball rolling:

    Ever Floating Up
Red Balloon has just one need
    Never To Fall Down

    Flying higher still
Only to be stopped by stars
    On to practice mode

Edit: I already own this game. If I win though, I'd give it to a friend.

    Many balloons float
    All upward in unison
    Only one shall rise.

Symbolism: Comparable to a community of people. Everyone goes to the same place, does the same thing, lives the same life. In comparison to singularity of an individual "only one shall rise" signifies the success of self. The twist on words from "float" to "rise" is to enhance the event of succeeding as opposed to being another face in the crowd, or being in "unison" with one another.

Unless cruel has 2 syllables on your planet, that's not a haiku

Maybe you should go back to school, cruel has two "syllables".
As for your original argument of it not having two vowels, that is incorrect as well.

I will try not to be a strict constructionist when judging the winners. Poetry is in the realm of aesthetics, not rules. If the intent is there to work within the form, small exceptions will be tolerated.

Also, already I'm impressed with the entries. Let no one say the Touch Arcade community is a bunch of dummies. This is good stuff, keep it coming!
