I've just hooked up my regular Xbox today and I had Unreal Tournament lying around. I popped it in and was playing it all day today. This game is truly epic. Do any of you guys have it? Post your thoughts

I've got UT3 and even playing offline with bots, it's totally badass.

Indeed it does. I gotta say, I've played more great old games than I have new ones. My older consoles like my PS2 and N64 have more games than my newer ones like the Wii and 360. Plus, I find myself constantly playing old abandonware games, especially LucasArts style point and click adventure games, and of course, FPS games from when graphics weren't everything and people were still amazed that we could have a full 3D FPS, rather than the 2.5D ones.

Ahhh... the good ol' days I was never around for.

...and Epic = devs of UT. The cycle is complete ;)

Going back for the games you missed is one of life's hidden pleasures.

I really can't agree more. I've enjoyed more of the games I wasn't around for (or just couldn't get when I was a kid) than I have of the new ones that come out. It's all FPS and graphics these days... it's not focused on actual gameplay as much. When I go back and play all those N64/PS1/Gamecube/etc. games I missed when I was a kid and had those systems, it's like having a whole new console all over again. In fact, my favorite game falls into that category.

I havn't played too much of that one... But what I did play was a ton of fun. The only FPS I've really played that much was 007: The World is Not Enough. My friend let me borrow Goldeneye at the same time, but I didn't really like it much at the time because of the relative low quality. Looking back, I feel like an idiot for not playing that one more. And then there was the FPS multiplayer and minigames in Banjo-Tooie that were surprisingly fun for a minigame.

I bought the whole unreal collection series off Steam for 11 bucks and played with UT 3 for a bit but there's not many people online playing with the regular maps :-/ The intensity and speed of the game is insane and I'm really not used to playing with shooters this fast :-O

Yeah, I never got around to playing Unreal Tournament much... I've played more Quake 3/Quake Live myself. My friend has 3... I gotta see if I can borrow that one some time.
