I said it's a country's job to look after it's citizens. Why would you not want that? What could possibly twist your mind so much that you think the world shouldn't be taking care of it's inhabitants? The only reason humans are where they are now is because they learned to help one another, and suddenly you want to go all dog-eat-dog. I understand. Capitalism on paper isn't as attractive as socialism. In practice socialism is always subjec to the mental makeup of the people running it. They are human and subject to the same personal motivations as the capitalists. What can make a capitalist system so dynamic is that it can provide the incentive for everyone to participate. That's more or less what I do. I generally rely on the NHS for scrapes and bruises, but I pay for private dental care, and if I end up with any serious medical conditions I'll ditch the NHS and pay for private treatment for that too.

A government should take care of it's citizens, hence protecting natural rights. Now I would expect a little more from government than simply its strictest function but I just feel like citizens these days demand way too much from their government, driving it to the ground in the long run. @da shiz wiz: I stopped reading your post after the second profanity I read.
