Look I'm sorry I'm neither Republican nor Democrat so this isn't just political bias but switching to government run health care is a step in the wrong direction for America. This country was founded on Capitalist principles and I don't see how any true American could rationalize the government running our health care. It seems like the whole government of the people, for the people, by the people thing is out the window and the founding fathers would frown at what this country has become.
All I know is if I break my leg in your country I'm screwed, I can totally wreck myself over here for free.
honestly guys, there are way too many of us, why do we fight so hard to keep ourselves so healthy and force ourselves to live so long? Humans are meant to get hurt, be stupid and die because of stupid mistakes. So yeah, you're screwed if you break your leg over here, maybe you should be more careful? I know at least 7 people in my city who have been hit by cars and every single time it's the same story, them being absent minded and not looking, not being careful. Mind you, some things just happen regardless of how careful you are, but that's nature telling you it's your time to rot and die. anyway, i'm done ranting.
Is that what you think happens? Some dude falls down a hill and breaks a load of bones, the NHS look at him and say "man... that's gonna cost a bomb" then walk off pretending they hadn't seen it?
Good facts to back that up. Maybe you'll cite the republican propaganda or rumors about democrats next time. When you are in your prime health care companies will accept you in easily. When you get old they reject you or they increase the pay like hell. Then when your injury costs over 7K, good bye, you're on your own. By making it government run, adults in their prime pay more, BUT the elders pay less and the 7K max payment is gone. But oh booohoo you cant deal with more taxes right now? Well its better now when you might have a job than when you're older without a job or in a really shitty job, especially since your health care becomes vital when you're old. I'd like to hear your rebuttal. Maybe an obama joke if you cant think of anything.
I'm just saying anybody who understands the history of this country and lassez-faire would be disgusted by this idea. There's other countries to live in if you really want government run health care so badly.
