+1 I just love the single player. The bad thing about it is that there is almost no stopping place, like a show/movie with no commercials. After you are done doing something, right after that something big happens. lol

The multiplayer is fun but is a bit lacking in the weaponry department.

yeah I'm kind of like that too, I often like games to have ups and downs as far as pace, so you dont get spoiled with constant surprises, this game is just one straight thrillride after another, nonstop action with an engaging story. Can't complain too much though, this is easily one of the best games of the year, may even get the PS3 Game of the Year award.

I bought a PS3 for this game today. Then got home, set it all up, and realized I had to go out and buy a set of god damn cables to hook it up to my HDTV, since according to Sony's infinite wisdom people apparently buy next generation consoles to hook up to their TV's with RCA Composite video from 1988.

I have played I guess about 1/3 of the game - really like the immersive story line. Poor Drake is always getting whacked... its amazing he survives it all. I am not much of a multiplayer so I can't comment on that aspect. The thing I don't like is that the game is pretty much "on rails" - there are defined goals as each aspect, and you have a pretty small sandbox to play in at each junction.

Batman: AA is also excellent. As with all fighting adventure games - after about 1/2 - 2/3 the difficulty continues to ramp up, and so the biggest changes are there are more ways to get injured - although it really does not add to the experience. Overall a wonderful game.

I am looking forward very much to Ratchet and Clank which I have loved to follow since it started on the PS2. Hopefully it will be a deep, and long experiece. The series seems to be trading graphical wowness for length and adventure. I am not sure what the formula for Going Commando made it so strong - but it remains my favorite - and many others favorite - of the series.

Demon Souls looks like it could be incredible - but it relies heavily on the online, and so I could see this becoming much less appealing as soon as folks have "moved on"

Brutal Legend also looks like it could be great. Dante's Inferno coming up, and then GT5 and FF13 next year - ahh..... some great games. Now is an excellent time to be a gamer.

lol. I beat the game on thursday and yesterday I started my hard playthrough and got to chapter 17 in three hours. May finish later don't know yet. Multiplayer is great, but to be honest I enjoyed the demo more. In the demo the only objective modes were plunder and chain reaction, and everyone always voted for plunder so I could go into that type looking forward to a nice game of plunder. Now, there are like four different types, and sometimes plunder isn't even an option, so I end up playing like turf war on some map I don't like either. They need to fix that system so I can choose to just play plunder cuz thats really the only mode I like.

You're telling me, count how many times in the game Drake ends up hanging from the ledge in a cut scene, or someone catches someone else about to fall... it's gotta be around 30.

I don't really use the online features at all... I suppose the messages are nice if you're really stuck, but most of them are basically spam. I haven't even bothered with co-op because there's no easy way to play with your friends. I do think it's an offline game at heart though.

i played the demo of it and it was very fun except for treasure hunting because two things happened: either 5 guy threw grenade and fired at people that even got near the box or people on my team blew me ujp because they wanted to put the box in the chest

Yeah, I picked up Uncharted 2 on release day here in the UK last Friday and beat it on Saturday. Didn't feel like it was much longer than the original but it's still one of the best games I've played in quite some time. I also picked up Brutal Legend which was released on the same day and I'm having a blast with it. I'm totally into the whole 70's/80's Hard Rock/Heavy Metal scene so the the constant references and little nods to certain bands, albums, members etc is pretty sweet... plus, the guitar solos are killer!

Brutal Legend is also epic. At first I was bummed I couldn't find news of an OST being released, but then I thought... who needs an OST? If a song really kicks that much ass I'll just get the whole album and potentially discover a ton of new bands.
