Oh, was this such a bad understandable english phrase, sorry. "us" is we (the gamers). I highly doubt some of the praise for this game if the characters weren't the x-men. If they could have invested more money and specially more developing time, this game could have been something really outstanding. Now it's an ok game. This folks, of course, is just my point of view.
The game speed needs increased x2. I feel like I'm fighting an invisible current as wolverine runs forward And make the bad guys more dangerous please
Your point of view. Please don't speak for all gamers. Personally, I would really dig the game regardless of the characters.
Same here. Was the first to bring up the floaty jump physics, but other than that, i like the gameplay in this one.
Looks great, but reminds me of why I hate platformers. Run, jump, jump, jump, near the top, jump, fall, start over. Also, the just out of reach items. More frustrating than fun, but better than most platformers.
I love X men but found the game as a game very bland and unexciting. Very ordinary and nothing worth getting all hyped up about. I gave it a 2/5 in the end and deleted it. I wouldn't have bought it if it weren't X Men and I was very disappointed in the gameplay despite it being IAP free. Warhammer 40,000 Carnage is heaps better than this.
I fully agree. I bought it because of the x-men factor and ended up deleting it. It got so boring after a while. There was just nothing to keep my interest.
I also agree the physics and movement response in the game are a little to floaty and slow. Reminds me of the latest Duke Nukem 2D game port to iOS. And even though I agree that it's repetitive and such, the X-Men factor is keeping me hooked. And since it is a simplistic game, I'm trying to appreciate it as I would an arcade side scroller from my NES, SNES, & Genesis days. I definitely wouldn't be complaining about this game if it came out back then... So I don't think I should now.
Missed out on killing all enemies because even though I killed a guy, he didn't die. He kept fighting me and taking away my healthy but I could no longer hurt him. First time that that's happened.
Thanks Richard! We're thrilled to hear it. Not that we don't appreciate some constructive negative feedback as well but it's always nice to get a sparkling review from an X-Men fan. That's fair. It's difficult to satisfy a gamer who doesn't typically enjoy the genre to begin with. As for the out of reach stuff, Scarlet Witch can fly so you may want to revisit some of those levels once you've unlocked her. Well we appreciate you trying it out. I wonder how far into the game you got because at the start, all of the characters are rather similar until you unlock their abilities. The level content, enemies, platforming also vary quite a bit after you travel back into the past. This will be fixed in the next update. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. After seeing the movie, the gamer in me nods energetically in agreement. Reminded me of Portal/Portal 2 but we have a few other X-Men in mind ahead of Blink. Definitely noted however.
Oooh. A few others first. Wow. This is going to have even more replay value! And thanks for the response!
I am not a huge fan of the X-Men franchise, but I really liked her in the movie and I also really like the actress Bin Bin, I'll definitely buy the game if she is in in the future ^^
The movie was epic! Maybe my favorite comic book movie to date! And I'm still really enjoying the game. All the critique I've seen is fair, but I actually really like the game as is. I've descended from hardcore to casual gamer over the last few years, though, so I may not be the best barometer. Man, I love the X-Men.
Just finished the game--and it was a great casual experience! I don't think the repetition is an issue; there's enough scene/setting variety (and I think this game is more about experiencing the story and setting than having a 'hardcore' platformer experience with an overwhelming number of customisable options). I'm going to replay earlier levels and max out the remaining characters. It's going to be a pain finding all the lore comics while three-starring all levels One minor 'niggle' I agree with: jumping feels 'floaty' and inaccurate at times.
Finished the game! It was fantastic! I'll definitely be going back to get all the lore. Now that I've played through, here's is what I would like, in case you are interested in catering to me personally, Glitchsoft. 1) Release the other three characters you have already talked about. 2) Create a Danger Room mode - endless random bad guys attacking. Should have a leaderboard. Either one for the whole thing or (even better), one per character. Maybe turn off Wolverine's healing for this mode. XP points should also be earned in this mode, specifically for those of us who are done with the main game, but want to level up the forthcoming characters. 3) Stop making content for this game at that point. 4) Make the Age of Apocalypse game you tease at the end. 5) Make Beast, Nightcrawler, and Gambit playable. If you could do all that for me, it'd be just wonderful. Regardless of what happens, I very much enjoyed this game. You all did a great job, and I would love to see a sequel that is based on roughly the same engine. Good work!
