Italy have failed to defend the World Cup: Slovakia 3-2 Italy

Really tight match, especially at the end where there were two brilliant goals. The Slovakian Kopunek comes on at the 89th minute, sprints past two defenders, and half-volleys a lob over the keeper with his first ever touch of the World Cup. Best debut ever?

Just after that, Quagliarella scores a magnificent chip over the keeper from outside the area into the top corner, giving the Italians that little bit of hope, but unfortunately for them, they can't get another one.

I almost broke my tv when the game ended. I was hoping Italy would at least make semifinals but getting eliminated at the group stage is extremely disappointing.

Those two finishes at the end were pretty amazing. That chip was absolute quality.

He was on about if both USA and England win against Ghana/Germany that would USA and England then meet ;) And i think the whole of England knows we got Germany Sunday :D

Also This World Cup has turned out like WW2.The French have surrended early.the USA arrive last minute and England are left to fight the *%*%*% Germans!! ;) :D

Speaking of WW2, I got sent this PM this morning by some German user (I won't say who). Keep in mind that I'm English:

    ...what's this supposed to mean?

oi tommy, calm yourself down there mate. don't start with those veteran war stories now... ;)

@eduku: well i guess it pretty much means that he's a complete t*sser.

whatever, i really look forward to the game but i'm quite in a pickle here. i'm german but i bet on england to take home the cup. so either england wins and i'm still in the running or ze ***** germans win and i have to sponsor the evening... damn it...

    Haha, good analogy. ;)

And regarding the 'whole of England knows we have Germany on Sunday' bit, the commentators on the Japan match just now didn't. :p They said it was Tuesday, and was later corrected haha. :)

Well, I've got Germany to go into the final at least, so I guess the pessimism for our own teams runs both ways :p

See? I told you it was an epic video :p

No tears shed over here though, I was extremely proud (not just for the USA but for how we all come together for soccer), but no tears... Maybe if there was a Brasil one?
