  1. I'm kind of stuck on this. I've already rescued Gorak -- the problem is I did so before I was given the quest. He's rescued. So now Darius gives me the quest, but it isn't recognized as already completed, and I can't get him to give me the XP for it. Any ideas?

Are you sure you weren't supposed to take back an item?

  3. I don't recall him giving me anything, no.

Ahh nope. That means i need to walk all the way back to Mercifius : (

    thanks for info!

  5. Walk? Take a horse man. Or better yet, buy a better horse. There's a guy selling them outside the north gate to Callaheim. The prices reflect their speed. The white one is a very fast steed, indeed -- tough to steer without hitting things and falling off. But that problem will be solved when you find the drake egg and can summon a drake to ride. Just as fast, won't knock you off when you bump into things.

So I just went into the bank in East Calheim to see what's in there... Did any of you guys know that you have a bank chest to store items in? :D

I stored mounts in there that I wasn't using. Would be cool if multiple characters could "share" the chests. Then I'd store all kind of junk in there for other characters.

So... Azara Temple... did you guys map out the floor with the obelisks? I've probably walked around for an hour now, found and rotated two obelisks, and "heard something in the distance". Do you basically walk around until you find a different hallway? Or do you have to backtrack out of that entire area after you spin the two obelisks?

Mapping it would have been a great idea, thinking about it. I turned the two obelisks and then randomly wandered around until I saw something that looked different. That's a pretty stupid way to deal with it but I didn't really have much of a choice.

Thinking about it, the temple is the one thing putting me off a second complete play-through because it's a bit tedious trying to find your way out of the third level. So yeah, a map would be nice. Maybe I should map it...

I think anyone who mapped it would be a hero. A legendary hero.

I feel the same way, the rest of the game is great, but the temple is very tedious, I don't enjoy any of the levels. It's too much running back and forth.

Yeah, never used it. I could probably store a few things I'm not using in there to make room for more loot, but at this stage in the game I don't really care. I have 100,000 gold and nothing to spend it on.

There are two hallways with a gate blocking your passage. The first accessible obelisk opens the new area where you'll find the second obelisk, which opens a door back in the first area. It's tedious but wasn't too difficult. Just find the gates before you turn the obelisks and remember where they are when you open them.

Go to the outlands north of Cold Sands Hold, and then to the mountain pass to the northwest. You'll enter a cold, wintry area. Just beyond a ruined archway (you'll kill a couple of terrorbirds first) you'll run into ice elementals. Kill them. They drop nothing but jewels. Keep killing them 'til you have what you need. (Collect as much as you can though, you can sell them for good money.) Make sure you're high enough level though. (25-30 I'd say) as they're tough for lower level characters. If you're strong enough you can enter the cave straight ahead from the first archway and kill the ice elemental queen. She's not part of any quest that I know of so she's free to be taken out at any time. Gather at least 3 of each before heading back to East Callaheim, and don't cash them in 'til you've talked with the collector, he'll be looking for 3 more jewels, so you could complete both of his quests at the same time.
