Why did apple choose to have a big media event, get everyone hyped up, then introduce nothing? The biggest changes happened with the nano, and even then they only added a camera, and who needs one of those anyways? Not a single thing Apple introduced today is worth upgrading to, unless you still have very early generations of ipods. I think it was a huge waste of time and money on their part, I dont think this little shindig that they had is going to boost sales whatsoever. Come on apple, do what you do best and innovate, not add the tiniest thing and have a ****ing party over it. /rant Anyone care to contribute?
Nano sales were probably slowly declining so they sad add a camera. For people that wanted the upgraded 3gs but cant get the phone, they introduced a new ipod touch. iTunes was more organized (imo) , but of course change is always hard.
So? Tradition isnt a reason to have an event where they introduce something. They should only have events when they make substantial changes to their devices, not just size upgrades and camera additions, which nobody will use anyways.
Well when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much, they try to make a baby. This time, instead of a nice, visually stunning baby coming out, instead what came out was a blind baby with photographic memory (don't bother pointing out my contradiction) that can read out loud. Don't you know that Apple is trying to cure old people from diseases with iPod Touches? That's why they double the memory and make it so the iPods read to you. It battle's Alzheimer and vision loss.
It's what Apple does. Twice a year -- well, three times, now: June/July (iPhone), September (iPods) and January (MacWorld, though MacWorld '08 did also introduce the 32GB iPod Touch, which was a bit out of season). To be fair, there were some decent things to talk about, but yes, the event was pretty underwhelming all things considered. But still, it's Apple. They hype. They're good at it.
The iPod touch upgrade was as good as the iPhone 3GS upgrade. They upgraded the horse power and doubled the starage capacity, exactly what they did with the iPhone this year. Hype was all from rumor sites. All apple ever hinted was an event with the title "Lets rock and roll". How did they fool you into believing there will be more? Evolution is as much necessary and great as revolution is. You can't really expect apple to come with something completely revolutionary like an iPhone or iPod every year. They need to improve on those thingsalready out there too. That said, the even was a little dull than usual. Too few announcements and the rumors which made real sense and we took for granted too weren't met. But that's the general feeling after most such keynotes no matter what they introduce. Hopefully there will be another even in a month or two to show off that MacTouch finally
I was just led off a false cliff when I heard the rumors about the camera and mic. Would've made me get an iPod immediately, but I guess I'd rather wait 'til Christmas since I now have a (camera-less) nano. If it weren't for those, I really wouldn't be surprised.
