Ultra Kid: A 3d Platformer by Human Powered Games

I currently got a PSP GO within the 10 games for free promotion (Little Big Planet+MotorStorm 4 teh win!!), and enjoying "Jak and Daxter" so far very very much.

On this title it is very fascinating what a variety in the 3D jump'n'run aspects you get presented, the things you have to do (also variation of camera perspective as an art method!!), also the action goes sometimes greatly into hack'n'slay mode.

So my question is actually, if you developer guys will vary the Jump'n'run aspects in the same way as a jak or daxter game, or will the gameplay more focus on a Jump and collect only?

 

theres now rolling like sonic the hedgehog style. not finished with that part yet though.

 

I saw a few post backs where u guys were talking about hype, and it's definatly true that their isin't as much as Aralon but it's also true that their isint any other GREAT 3D plat former games out their, yes their is ramen but i find the controls alittle annoying at times as it is a port and not actualy built for the iDevice. So i really think that once this is out their it'll catch on pretty quick!

You guys have my support and I'll be buying this along side of Aralon keep it up!

Hi, im working as an freelance artist on this game. Here is something i made recently for it:

Its Fat Donald the owner of the spaceport, he is as you might guessed a lazy guy, he has his robots work for him. Inside the Spaceport you will be able to buy all kinds of cool weapons and upgrades from Fat Donald.

 

That chair looks really cool! Does Donald sell pills as well?

 

Fat Donald is my kind of guy!

 

Lookin good. Hope it comes out soon but I know there's a lot to do with aralon still so we'll see.

 

Fat Donald (a futuristic relative of Rat Donald in Ravensword?) looks pretty cool. Just one question: Fat Donald is reasonably realistic in appearance, and so does Ultra Kid himself still have the cartoon-style face shown in the screenshots in the 1st post?

 

this game looks seriously awesome! I haven't read through the whole thread, so hopefully this hasn't already been answered but, when might this game be released?

 

Well I wouldn't consider him 'realistic' but he's not as cartoony as Ultra Kid is. I'm not sure thats a problem though.... Interesting point.

 

I don't feel it is a problem but since his visual style seemed a bit different, I was just wondering if the game had shifted in style.

I see what you mean, if the rest of the game is completely cartoony he may look a bit out of place.

 

Dr. Ridalin (spelled wrong in the pic) didn't have that much of a cartoony head....

No realistic style, just some characteristic curves in his face.

 

Now that's who I'd like to play in the game! He looks cool

But his beard and hair are cool.

 

How's this game coming? I think this one is next since it's after Rimelands and before Aralon..so I'm just intrested in a game I think has been over looked by many.
