think it like Sudoku. You must have a single tile value in each position, and you do so by determining from the hints which symbols have to be (or can't be) in a given position.
You must learn what every type of hint means, but it's explained well in the instructions.

A quick example: if one hint says A2: , the "2" must be in a column which have a column with a "A" somewhere on its left, and a column with a ":" somewhere on its right. Therefore, the "2" can't be in the first or in the last column and you can delete these two possible choices.

I Have almost all of the puzzle games in the list. I noticed that there are two versions of vexed. The newer one looks like it might have better and brighter graphics..............any opinions on which one to buy?

Also, the last ones I am considering (until more come out !!!) is metasquares, six sides and shift, all look interesting..........thoughts?

I have bought maybe 200+ apps since I got my iphone on June 19, so I am trying to be more careful.

any thoughts are appreciated :) soooo many good puzzle games and I want them all !!!!!

Haven't tried Vexed!, but Vexed has a lot more levels according to the description, plus it looks more polished. Why buy Vexed! for the same price when you can have a more polished looking game with tons more levels?

I have also not bought or played Vexed! I have Vexed and prefer it as it is a faithful reproduction of the original game. More levels, and also the developer also gives credit to the orginator unlike the newer version that does not. I also can't get into moving fruit things around for some reason - I like the blocks.

Vexed by Mikko Kankainen is the one to get. :) It has 2880 levels divided into 48 packs.

Aquazzle only has 75 levels but is a polished aquarium version of Vexed.

I recently got Skabooki and think it definitely deserves a spot on the "Highly recommended" section.

It's polished, fun and the art design is immaculate.

The game sound is good, the levels are thought provoking, and it's quite original.

Here's another that I just got this morning and I thought it is rather good. :)

    Upside Down

    Lite version is also available.

    Discussion thread here.

Upside Down is similiar to Prison Breaker. in gameplay.

But Prison Breaker didn't feel as fun. I played the lite version and I remembered it felt sort of laggy.

Archibald's adventures now I think about it is a real stunner of a game!

179 levels, clever use of different special items (gum and jetpack) and of course the signature Skateboard.

O and I know loads of people are going to whine, but match 3D flick puzzle is a match 3 game (obviously!) so it shouldn't be on this discussion thread. I really like it too, but until a "match 3" thread is made, it won't be featured.

Actually, I'm going to start the voting on match 3 games on my thread in a couple of days. Then people can vote for match 3D like crazy and get it chosen as the best match 3 game.

[app]Fission Quest[/app] is a really nice Sokoban style game. Graphics are 3D and first person view, which makes it different. Here is game website with video http://fissionquestgame.com/

[app]Kraut[/app] is not only pretty, but different from other matching games because of the arrangement goals to get to the next level

[app]Fusion[/app] requires the shifting the jelly blocks to fuse colours together, thus eliminating them from the gameboard.

A new take on the connect-the-dots genre with a clean modern interface. Difficulty amps up as the levels progress.

[app]Invasion of the Zakks[/app] is so good but I can't really explain what puzzle genre it's in. It reminds me of checkers and Theseus.

*NOT MATCH-3* you must love them like I love them just because of this. Seriously ;)
[app]Big Booty[/app] there is lite version too
    [app]Mystic Jewels[/app]
    [app]Pigs A Pop'n[/app]
    [app]Diabolika[/app]

[app]Bag Bigfoot[/app] is kinda hard, but once you get the strategy it's really fun! Original gameplay, IMO. It's hard to describe the genre as I haven't played this type before.

[app]iDonutConnect[/app] could really use a graphics overhaul, but don't let it's looks fool you! One must connect the donuts in the required pattern to move up a level and there are tons of levels! There is a lite version available.

[app]Fleck[/app] people may be put off by how cute everything is, but this game is very challenging. It's like a maze/booby-trap/strategy. I don't think there's any other game like it that I've played before.
