It's been a while.. I can only assume it was rejected again.. But apple has relaxed their approvals recently (even google voice apps are allowed now as well as the c64 emulator with BASIC enabled). Bump for info?
good to know it's still in review at least.. wonder what is taking apple so long.. I still have this game on my iphone4, even though it doesn't work...keeping my hopes up, always waiting for the update to hit the appstore..
We have addressed the iPhone4 crash issue in our latest update, so if it is approved your should have it running w/o any issues.. It seems to run just fine on my iTouch 4G with iOS4.1
Me too. can't play the game now due to the unable to go 2x on the ipad and i've been looking forward to playing it on my ipad...
i got my new ipod touch 4th gen and was sad that tryian no longer worked, and i see they pulled it from the app store...due to legal issues? i thought the game went free ware and you had permission from the original dev?
The AppStore rules keep changing.. First they did not like the dos exe files in the downloaded bundle... Then they did not like the whole zip download thing.. All together 5 different rejection reason.. The problem is that they tend to give just one reason per submission . So keep your fingers crossed...
After 3 month, 5 rejections, 2 removals and countles emails and calls the full version is finally ready for sale. Should pop up in the appstore any minute now. I suggest to get it fast! Before Apple changes it's mind again.
It says for iPhone and for iPad - so it should work, but I don't know the OS's... The way to get the app is to follow the app link. Doing a search on iTunes will only get you to Tyrian Lite, the regular version won't show (maybe it will later).

Works great for me on the iPad - nothing to download this time- game starts, and plays. Congrats on this release! And for those people that love shooters - this is one of the best! Check out the original thread here.. Also, this game has been mentioned in numerous threads asking about best SHMUPs.... check it out - there is a lite version if interested. And, keep in mind that it may not be in the app store long - it has been pulled in the past, but kudos to mobilainteractive to keep working and submitting 'til Apple finally relented (for the time being)...
Wow, it's finally here! I've been playing it since it appeared on the store and I have to say, this is the best iPad app. Period. And I honestly find it hard to imagine how it could ever be topped. One of the best games ever made (top 10 easy), ported perfectly (as far as I've seen), with possibly the greatest soundtrack ever (maybe second to Chrono Trigger) perfectly intact. Tons and tons of content, simple effective controls, colourful graphics. Bravo. Seriously. And you even get an iPhone version to carry in your pocket. It would be sweet if some of the menus were more touch-centric (ship upgrade selections, data cube scrolling), but I could see how that might require some major re-writing of the menu system, and I really don't mind since the up/down arrow and 'OK' is a nice nostalgic throwback anyway. Maybe I'm still just high on the nostalgia, but everyone owes it to themselves to get this game. This is front page material if I've ever seen it. Totally worth the wait.
