Note: This app used to be Tweetie 2.0 (same app id)

App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.

I noticed the update hours ago

    http://twitter.com/IphoneTnT/status/14250972135

I've been refreshing all night :( I've also been downloading the new OS 4 beta which seems to make things worse, I want them NOW!!!

    EDIT:
Forgot that Twitter is a little almost 1mb bigger than Tweetie 2 (2.1.2)

    Agreed!

I also wrote a review on the appstore that hasn't been approved yet. (If anyone agrees they should "like" it)

    C&P from appstore
"I'm definitely not happy with this update.

First off the gorgeous icon which tied in with the apps aesthetic is now replaced with Twitter's fat cartoon bird outline

Retweeting has been changed. Retweets used to be the icon of the original poster with the retweeter's icon overlapping. Now it is the original tweet with the original icon and a tiny grey text order it stating "retweeted by xxx". With the old version you could clearly tell what were retweets but now you see tweets and icons of people you don't know all over your wall.

Search has been changed from a streamlined interface that was easy to understand and use, into an eyesore that looks exactly like the first screenshot

I bought Tweetie for Iphone, Tweetie for Mac, and Tweetie 2 because of the beautiful aesthetic and streamlined interface... but now that twitter has taken over it seems those things don't matter anymore.

Luckily I saved my version of Tweetie 2.1.2 and will be using that until June when Twitter changes the login structure and making it obsolete."

So basically they took Tweetie 2 (which was awesome) and turned it into a big ball of suck. And it's going to kill the competition too... Really disappointed.

    I'll stick with Twitterrific.

It doesn't suck... Well... Besides the icon.

It's just that the extraordinary polish of Tweetie has been marred by "featured tweets" and things like that.

It sucks for me having paid for tweetie (though honestly I got way more than 3 bucks of use) but it's free now, no reason to not try it

Anyone here who has me on twitter knows how I feel about it lol.

The icon is ugly, the quotation addition to quotes suck, and I deeply miss the old RT style. The only thing I do like about it that is really much of a change is the removal of the "Accounts" at the top left corner. I always accidentally hit that lol.

I didn't expect any huge upgrade or anything, but I certainly didn't expect it to... well suck a bit. In any event, it is still my twitapp of choice next to Osfoora.

Just to get this clear: No push? Seriously? How could Tweetie become that popular?

Because there is an app called Boxcar that gives push notifications to Twitter, RSS, Facebook, Email, Atom, and Growl. It's also free with one account and you can use an IAP purchase to buy other accounts

Currently I use tweetie 2 and have push notification on two twitter accounts and one gmail account (since only one exchange account can have push in iphone's Mail.app)

cost me a whole 2 bucks and when I tap the notification it opens up the proper app (i.e a tweet opens tweetie and an email opens Mail) all it took was a few clicks in the boxcar app

Yeah Boxcar is the sh!t. I have no problem with Tweetie 2 not having push. It's not that huge of a deal when you have it (Boxcar).

I prefer the native push notifications I get from Echofon, FaceBook and MobileMe. I thought Tweetie would offer more functionalities than Echofon. Obviously I was wrong.

Push notifications are all the same... There is no such thing as "native" notifications until OS 4.0 which will have local notifications (but those are used for offline apps like Todos)

When you get one and hit Reply and the tweeter app of your choice opens.
