For free, I have to recommend Twitterriffic. I just got into twitter recently too, and had to shop around for the free ones, but I am even thinking about upgrading to the premium twitterriffic (though not nessisary at all, since the ads are not bothersome in the least). Twitterriffic just looks the nicest and cleanest UI compared to the others I tried.

    Just my thoughts though.

Tweetie is the best one out there IMO.
The dev said how he wants to implement push notifications for DMs and replies sometime.

I prefer Tweetie, Tweetdeck is a bit too much for me, kind of convoluted.

tweetdeck has a lot of potential to be good...but it crashes all the time.

it's a tossup between Tweetie and Twitterlator.

Tweetie looks well done, it's just that the UI looks boring. ahhaahah I know that's a stupid thing to complain about for a Twitter app but they could at least make it look a tad more interesting. Is there anyways to change the look of the interface or anything like that? I mean I saw in the discription is says "Themes" but how are they?

*edit* Meh, caved and got Tweetie anyways. F*cking rocks.

I think TwitterFon Pro is way better than Tweetie. Tweetie lacks the most important functionality: Showing new tweets! There is absolutely no indication of new tweets, mentions and direct messages. You have to switch the tabs constantly to see if there is anything new. How could anyone accept this strange behaviour? Tweetie is totally overrated.

Tweetie is great, if you haven't found it, go into the iphone settings, scroll to the bottom and Tweetie is there, you can change the theme between simple, dark and chat bubble.

If you've already found these settings, ignore this post. :)

I have been using SimplyTweet lately and like it a lot. The next version (currently pending with Apple) has push notifications for mentions and DMs.

Yeah I found it but thanks. Yeah I like it a lot. I don't think it's overrated. It works just fine, and new tweets come just fine for me.
