Shake to get enemies off you seems lame, even if it is a quick motion. I'd rather not lose time not being able to see the screen then having to readjust. Just let me press some buttons, much more efficient than that gimmicky BS.
I understand the feeling here - we wanted to convey a certain stress with the grabbing zombie, and the blood splattering out of her throat + the character being stuck achieives that perfectly. Shaking the phone at this moment feels like a natural way to reject the agression: its actually quite rewarding to push back all nearby zombies "physically" by yourself instead of pressing a button and let the character do it for you! Of course you will hate these grabbers, and that's exactly what we want you to!
