What happened to the forum for Twilight Survivors? I can’t seem to find it anymore. It was new a few days ago and now disappeared. I did download it and wow is it fun. Probably the best Vampire Survivor styled game I have played. Really enjoying it and there is tons to do and unlock. Really feels like a rogue lite. The more you play the stronger you can make characters and come back again more powerful. Love this style of gaming. Interestingly you can buy each coin pouch only once elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 671 504 93 #7 elcrazy, Jul 16, 2024 Do not buy the coins. You do not need them. The game dolls out plenty. The only necessary purchase is the character pack. They are all very different and have some very cool personal weapons. They also have their own lore sections and ability trees. The other pack gives you coin boosts and extra rerolls. This pack is great and I did pick it up. It just makes the game a fully premium game. I am one who never plays games with in app for coins or other stuff. But this one does it right. I think I may be enjoying this more or as much and VS. There is so much to do and unlock. Nice graphics. Weapons feel awesome. The merging seems easier to recognize and makes more sense. Lightening with bottled lightening. Dagger with sword etc… So many levels to play. So much to explore. I am really loving this. Also plays nice with the backbone one, which I can’t do with VS. But I never knock a game for controller support. I am just finding out how much I love a backbone but for me phone games are just that, phone games and shouldn’t need a controller. I can say this game may play even better without one. The control on the phone are butter smooth. everyone should be trying this out. adin, Son of Anarchy and ste86uk like this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 671 504 93 #8 elcrazy, Jul 16, 2024 I guess anything is possible. Anyone here who knows me knows I shy away from that stuff. This game really just has an inapp to make it premium. There are two packs and they seem to be on sale. Do not buy coins. The game gives tons. I buy everything I want and have 30k plus coins always left over. I have worked on multiple skill trees and never feel like in need to grind at all. But I did buy the 50% more in app as I am loving this game. I probably didn’t need to but I do like the 5 re rolls. I’m impressed — it’s the first game in this new genre that feels like a step up from VS. Runs beautifully at 60 FPS with all the bells and whistles. And I really like the addition of a dash mechanic. This game is fantastic. I can’t stop playing and unlocking and growing and finding and experiencing and testing and……. Again don’t be afraid of the in app. It’s really just two that make the game premium. And you only need the one with characters. Everything else is just to skip ahead which you don’t and won’t need. I’m surprised I downloaded but so happy I did. It’s VS evolved into a much more playable game and I do love VS. This is just more accessible and more of a roguelite. ste86uk and squarezero like this. And I was glad to pay for unlocking all characters. They all play very different and starting with the desert levels you really need to use their different powers in a tactical way. The unlockable buffs in the ability trees also ad a nice flavor. But after trying out VS and every VS Variation there is - I still feel the inverse bullet hell genre is still missing out a lot. Every game I played so far has nearly identical weapon evolutions. Once you know what belongs together you always will go this rout. So why can‘t they make a VS game where the Weapon and Skill combinations work more like in Binding of Isaac - where every added Skill can change the complete build? That is what is missing in this genre imo. Duke12 and squarezero like this. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 671 504 93 #15 elcrazy, Jul 21, 2024 I am loving this game. I do think it’s better than VS. So many surprises and you progress and build characters. I do like how the weapon system works in this one but yes, it’s much of the same. It would be cool to see a game like this, like you said with the binding of Isaac build, but also mixed with a Hades build. I am sure there are more VS variations to come. But this one really does feel like a step up. And a higher end version. I still love VS. But this is just awesome. Everyone should try this out. And I think the character pack is 100% worth it. They are all very cool in different ways. I like playing with almost everyone. The unlockable upgrades, the slowly increasing Level difficulty, the graphics and the short length of a game make me always come back for one more round. I agree with you on the masterful skill that is needed to craft great surprising synergies like in The Binding of Isaac and make it work like magic. But I disagree with you on the thought it‘s not worth. The VS genre is in it‘s baby shoes and needs to try more. That‘s why genres have evolved like Turn Based Rpg to ActionRpg to MMORpg and its several other subgenres. Evolution is the high priority. elcrazy Well-Known Member Sep 19, 2017 671 504 93 #18 elcrazy, Jul 23, 2024 Last edited: Jul 24, 2024 Rocco SE Well-Known Member Jun 16, 2020 258 242 43 Male Modern Mime Artist Austria https://silentrocco.net #19 Rocco SE, Jul 23, 2024 This is a great little VS-like for sure. Also, this genre is just perfect for one-handed portrait play. sebgo likes this. squarezero Moderator Staff Member Patreon Silver Dec 10, 2008 13,685 1,206 113 Male Chief Strategy Officer Salem, Massachusetts, USA #20 squarezero, Jul 23, 2024 I very purposefully used the word “feels” in my post. I know that VS is a marvel of game and progression mechanics — it just leaves me a little cold. My character might as well be a pixel, for all that I engage with it. By combining the charm of something like Minigore with solid auto fire mechanics, TS brings new level of engagement to VS style play. Adding the dash is also pretty brilliant, especially in the boss fights. It just feels good to play in ways that VS doesn’t quite deliver for me. Obviously, that’s a very subjective assessment .
