I'm not gonna start some Turbofly defense squad, and you're entitled to your opinion, but how exactly is this "alpha-feel"? Other than the lack of a pause button, and a couple of crashes I've experienced, it feels like a finished game to me. The graphics could use more detail but that's true of 95% or more of the games on the AppStore. The controls are tight, there are no bugs and the game is full featured. It's certainly no alpha or even beta.
Wow, that's harsh. I'm having a lot of fun with this one. I like the track design, and the sense of speed is great. Touch controls work very well. Some of the affect graphics and sounds aren't on par with each other, but other than that its fun, an definitely reminds me of Wipeout. I loved repulze, but not the polarity element, so this is right up my alley. Well worth a dollar, no brainer for free.
well since the android versions exists for months already, yes its very disappointing that the ios versions is not much better.
yeah - developer said it came out before Repulze... Funny how much Repulze has grown... then this... =o/
Anyone who thinks this is good should obviously give Repulze a try now that it also has opponents and weapons as well. The visuals and sense of speed are incredible even on my wimpy 3GS.
My biggest issues with this is that the sense of speed is non-existent. Going 250 MPH or 600 MPH, it ALWAYS looks like you're going 50 down the highway... Along with the lack of a pause button, and the power-up icon right under your thumb when using the touch controls... Other than that - it's definitely a racer worth having - and definitely worth your time to check out while it's free - but I bought it the day it showed up here on TA, and deleted it the same day. It lacks polish, and is nothing that stands out among the onslaught of iOS racers out there.
Lack of a freemium style "currency", but yeah not much else. Still worth picking up for free and definitely the best wipeout-like option for anti-consumable purists.
