I hope the editor is out soon and gives us a lot of options in creating our own. I do think that the free scenario, naked doom, is one of the worst though. It is extremely hard (though it says for beginning characters) and has lots of instant deaths and frequent combats with huge monsters (+200 bonus or more). I do like their monetary system. Spend money to permanently unlock adventures, or watch an ad per attempt. If the devs are watching this thread, PLEASE let our characters be synced. I don't know why you would tie them to a single device, especially since we have to make an account anyways. I'm not going to play a game the same way you'd find a doorway in pitch darkness. nhojuhc Member Nov 28, 2013 16 0 1 #7 nhojuhc, Aug 17, 2017 I got a crazy 40 stat roll that I threw on my hobb character's luck attribute. He does crazy damage even when I roll *1s....105??! He's one shorting everything but a Balrog in the dungeons.... Stronsay Well-Known Member Aug 6, 2015 987 230 43 #8 Stronsay, Aug 17, 2017 That's a stroke of luck. An interesting aspect of this T&T is that characters can pass from one adventure to another, so take care of that one. I'm trying to draw a map of the Naked Doom dungeon. Things were done differently in 1975! Tinsel Well-Known Member Dec 8, 2008 508 5 18 #9 Tinsel, Aug 17, 2017 That's true, but if it hopes to succeed in 2017 some concessions need to be made. As a lightweight gamebook-player, the app is great and should foster a nice community of player made gamebooks. But having naked doom be the sole free entry into the system is a horrible mistake. This should be an expert level gamebook that people will buy for nostalgia and/or the challenge. The worst part about it is the only other "full-length" gamebook, buffalo castle, is a PERFECT intro to this app. It is fun, charming, easy, and throws oodles of items, money, and AP your way with an ending you can initiate at virtually any time. I honestly think choosing naked doom over buffalo castle for the free adventure is going to turn so many people off to this. I keep calling them gamebooks because that is what they will be compared to, and the gamebooks by inkle and tin man are going to appear much better than this one (again, because it was by its nature made to support fan-made contributions). Modules to me imply some sort of multiplayer component, which to my knowledge this app has no plans for. solarnya Well-Known Member Jul 22, 2015 905 285 63 Male Close to Tokyo, Japan #10 solarnya, Aug 17, 2017 unavailable in Japanese store Sexy Pirate Well-Known Member Sep 29, 2014 889 0 0 Call centre / Parent Newcastle England #11 Sexy Pirate, Aug 17, 2017 Just played through the tutorial and naked dungeon. Have to say I'm hoping the other adventure is better because I finished the naked one second time I played it. Are the playthroughs going to be a lot different or are they pretty set like the old choose your own adventure books so once you find the right route you can run through it. Still I like the presentation as I enjoy my GameBooks having grew up with the paper ones. My only complaint is I wish it had a portrait mode. robert1025 New Member Oct 23, 2014 4 0 0 #12 robert1025, Aug 17, 2017 Not in Polish store aconfusedkender Well-Known Member Sep 28, 2012 1,362 122 63 Oil & Gas Kendermore, Ansalon #13 aconfusedkender, Aug 17, 2017 Why would you give it one star without even playing it? What sense does that make phred Well-Known Member Mar 21, 2010 271 3 18 #14 phred, Aug 17, 2017 I had these adventures when I was a teen. I think I still might have them in a box somewhere. Great fun. The full role playing game was fun too. All you needed was a lot of 6-sided dice. You'd be rolling a ton of them for some of the higher level monsters. I hope the artwork is from the original adventure books. They'll bring back good memories. Papicus65 Active Member May 8, 2013 40 0 6 #15 Papicus65, Aug 17, 2017 Not available in Italy either. Is this a soft launch? tshark_ma Member Aug 17, 2017 14 1 3 #16 tshark_ma, Aug 17, 2017 Hello! Glad you are enjoying it so far. There are several endings to Naked Doom, so while you technically could repeat the same ending over again, there are different paths with different results. It also depends on what your rolls end up being in the adventure as well.
