I think I might push it more towards an incrementally difficult, timed level with extra obstacles on the next release, with races as an optional extra. I'd love to know what people think about that, when they're not puking. funferret Member May 9, 2017 14 2 3 Game Developer UK https://www.funferret.com #5 funferret, Jul 29, 2017 I honestly don't know if that's good or bad. It's supposed to be fast and difficult with the tunnel shooting past you (try it on extreme level down a narrow tunnel). I'm going to stick my head in the sand for now and assume your comment is positive (I'll sleep better). bigrand1 Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 4,968 7 38 Geriatric Party Animal California, USA #6 bigrand1, Jul 30, 2017 Naw, no worries! Not negative against you! After watching the video, it was rather dizzying to me, hence that comment. I'm an old man, so whaduya expect?! Can't hang with that kind of game play anymore I guess. Don't dig roller coasters or dizzying rides like that either these days! # It's just me!!! Chq Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2013 443 60 28 #7 Chq, Jul 30, 2017 I like it. My game is supposed to be very much a 3D steering type game, I used to like flight sims. It is impossible to play in a train or bus due to the difficulty steering though, which is a problem for a game on mobile devices. I'm going to add timed levels so it becomes a little more like STUN Runner, with gun turrets and stuff in the way, but it will still essentially be the same 3D steering game, just with 2 game modes (it's a straight up lapped racing game at the moment). I like the idea of creating another game with easier steering and a bit more like stun runner, so may seek you out if I do that. Should be fairly quick to do, since a lot of the code will stay the same. And yes, I do need to work on more craft variation and upgrades etc. There are 3 different craft with different characteristics and 3 different weapons at the moment, but definitely needs improving. Anyway, if you get round to trying it out properly, I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for pointing out stun runner to me as well. In the trailer video I only saw one type of craft, either for player or opponents, so I was basing on that. It would also be cool to see things like divergent paths in the cave system, forking both vertically and horizontally ala S.T.U.N. Runner. Another highly desired feature is non-accelerometer controls like a virtual stick with adjustable sensitivity. Mfi controller support would be most welcome as well for precision control on iPad. I mean these suggestions in the spirit of a successful game for you, and one I can see myself enjoying playing for the long term P.S. I am stoked to be able to introduce you to S.T.U.N. Runner as it was one of my very favorite arcade experiences and was one of my most played games on my Atari Lynx some 27 years ago. Your game comes close to the spirit of that true classic arcade tunnel racer. I wish to see your game succeed and I plan to pick it up next pay in support Thank you for your responsiveness here in the TA forums and I wish your presence here and the dialogue with other players may help you make your game all that it can be! funferret Member May 9, 2017 14 2 3 Game Developer UK https://www.funferret.com #12 funferret, Aug 1, 2017 Control wise you can select touch control via the options/control menu. You then drag your finger around the central part of the screen to steer the ship. For Mfi controller support I presume you mean a stick control of some sort. Well I have tried that and actually had it in the original builds. Unfortunately all the stick controls I tried, kind of sucked. The game needs very fine control down the tunnels to maintain nice control and aim at other craft, but then very substantial steering changes to make it around sharp corners. The stick controllers I tried gave a very bad impression of the game, so I have removed the support for now. I will have to try and create some control algorithms that improve the stick control, or maybe just create race courses that are more suited to that control method. To be honest I was pretty unhappy with the stick controllers I tried, some of which were $50+ pc flight sim aimed controllers. Not the best controllers you can get, but better than most people will be playing with. As I'm originally an electronic engineer I might try and design a good one at some point. They seem to concentrate on giving you umpteen sticks, buttons and pads to control everything with, rather than one good steering control and a handful of buttons, which would be better for most games.
