The more I stare at these screens the more possibilities I see. The bench down the bank looks sweet. (Edit: After close examination of the screens (wish they were a tad bit higher res) I noticed it's a hump flyout to the bench down the bank! Too rad.) Are any of the concrete slabs high up on the outside wall grindable? Would be nice if so. I'd like something almost secret like the ramp high up the wall on the first map. Something just real challenging. Either way, I am pumped!

I'm not interested in skating but this looks cool! Has anyone else loved this game but is not into skating?

Luke, do you think we'll ever get to see proper locking blunts/noseblunts on ledges or is that just an impossibility with the current physics system? I dream of doing a tweaked kickflip back noseblunt on a flat ledge and popping out off the side. And I don't care that much about this, but do you think we'll see the nollie trick names being properly reversed? (Right now it's showing nollie kickflips as nollie heelflips and vice versa.) Also, I noticed you haven't implemented a name for forward flips (some call them dolphin flips). Right now it just calls it a Hardflip. But you can totally do them in the game and you flip it pretty much exactly how you do it in real life. Up and off the nose, but slightly to the left. It's almost seen as a dork trick these days, but I figured I'd let you know. Here's an example video.

I seriously cannot wait for this new park.

Edit: Here's another super slo-mo video of a forward flip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37C1KOSgTAk

I have gotten some feedback from people who where not interested in skating but loved this game.

Actually, I really want to see blunt slides locking on ledges, and especially on lips. It is definitely something that can be added, and something that I desperately want to add, it's just that I have so many competing priorities, and had other commitments apart from True Skate and JCS2 that I have been trying to get out of the way as well. Blunt slides locking on lips would really be good for the new level. There are heaps of lips.

It's a low priority, but it shouldn't be too hard to fix. There is also a major flaw in the trick detection system when a board flips through near vertical, it will often get the trick completely wrong. That is a bit harder to fix.

I didn't know about forward flips. I'll have to take a look into that more. Hopefully we will slowly sort all these things out. I think that blunt slides on ledges and lips would be the number one thing I want to get in though!

I'm not sure when, we do want to make it happen when we can find time.

This is awesome to hear. Blunts on ledges and lips would just open up a whole new world. Can't wait.

Awesome news about the new park! Can't wait! I have spent more time on this than any other game on my phone over the last 12 months.

One thing I would really love however (not sure if other people have brought this up before) is to be able to turn off all the text in the game. All of the tricks, scores, combos and TC's, the lot. I will often do weird or interesting tricks that the game doesn't recognize, which kind of bums me out, so I would rather just have everything turned off and be able to free skate around without the game telling me how well or poorly I'm doing

Either way, super psyched about the new park!

It's cool y'all are adding a park. I felt this game/sim needed more content before I bought it. But IAP only for the new stuff has me probably going to have to pass on the game completely since I don't put money into IAP at all. Maybe in a year after the game is fully complete a separate "Complete" or something version is released then I may be interested in that.

I don't hate the dev or anything crazy. Eveyone making games needs to find a way to do it in a way that can make money.

Yeah, we've thought about the option to turn the hud messages off our selves, and had some other people suggested. It is something not too hard to add, although, it might get lost in between everything else we are trying to do.

Once we get enough IAPs in the game, I guess we would add some IAP bundles, or maybe an everything IAP, but you will have to wait and see what happens. I think True Skate will still be pretty good value compared to the competition.

Hey guys! I wanted to give you a thumbs up for the great game (more like 5).

Also, you might have gotten this question often, do you plan on implementing some sort of board customization?

Thanks :D, and again great game!

I love this game as it is, I don't really try the missions cause they're very difficult but I just enjoy fooling around and trying to do grinds. What this game could use is a replay/record feature for when you pull off a cool trick and want to save it, and higher resolution textures would be nice, I play on iPad 4. Those are my two suggestions. I'll be buying the new skate park for sure.

Ooh. I agree that higher res textures would be awesome. On my iPhone 5 it's running so smooth it looks like it could definitely handle it. But what do I know.

I have recommended this and I really hope they implement it. I've maxed out the TC, and don't care about scores. The regular only naming of tricks bugs me too.

Do this and get blunts on lips working again and you're my hero luke!

*also, I wrote a blog about my top 25 games and apps and true skate is on it. It's at geekswithwives.com if you want to check it out :)

I was just playing the game my self and started trying some forward flips. They do actually seem to work pretty similar to real life. It's cool how many of the flip tricks can be done pretty similar to real life with this physics system with out us having to fake anything. (Although, you can often find other strange ways of doing the same tricks that may not be so close to reality)

I agree. Best physics system in any skateboarding game ever. By far.

For those nerdy enough to want to watch videos of True Skate tricks, this is probably my last video until the new park hits.

It would be awesome if you guys would give us some sort of list of spawnpoints that you can choose from, instead of just pressing the button and getting spawned at the closest one.

You can set your own marker and always spawn at that location if you want. It's in the options menu.

I wish the set spawn marker option was more accessible and not buried about 3 levels down in the menus. I find that super inconvenient.

Yeah, most people do. I'm pretty sure a little while back they said they were looking into finding a better place for it.

I've been working a bit on the physics. Blunt slides now work on ledges and lips.(Need to add some pop out when you jump off a blunt slide on a lip for one). Still needs a bit more work though. Also fixed some issues with the board flipping when you hold the top from some angles. Also added some ability to horizontally rotate the board while grinding.

I'm also fixing some issues with the trick detection. It has always been broken when you flip the board through near vertical. I've seem to have that working now, although it brings some interesting trick naming questions up.

Like, is there a difference between a Hard Double Flip and a Double hard flip? (It seems to me people interchange them, in which case the current naming system is ok, but I could see how they could be 2 different things) A double hard flip could be a more like a 360 hard double flip, but maybe more vertical.

Still thinking about how to do this. Possibly holding down the reset button could bring up a menu, however, that might brake the instantaniousness of the reset button.

Yaaay! Awesome news about bluntslides. Also moving your board while you're grinding sounds like it could really help out.

About the double hardflip thing. A double hardflip is basically a hardflip, but it kickflips twice. Still only one shove it rotation. A 360 hardflip is a hardflip, but with two horizontal(ish) rotations, but still just one kickflip rotation. Here is some video reference.

    http://youtu.be/4MzaG27y500 (360 hardflip)
    http://youtu.be/PoMJHttjfNM (Double Hardflip)

And, my two cents on where to put the session marker. I think your idea is great, but instead of the reset button, I'd use it on the slo-mo button. Hold it down and it'll drop down revealing a set marker icon. If you tap it, it goes back to the top and replaces slo-mo. Hold on the set marker icon and the same thing happens revealing the slo-mo icon. I just picked slo-mo cause I think it's my least used icon.

So would an update be coming out with bluntslides before the new park or is it going to be one big update? Pumped.
