Omg, definitely MANY MANY rewinds. This is seriously what I picked from hours and hours of playing. I mean I pulled other stuff, but I only put the "film worthy" tricks in the video. As I was trying the over the half-pipe tricks I was also trying to hit the rail, but couldn't ever pull it off. Tried it over and over and over. But yeah. Certain tricks are definitely becoming easier. It varies. Sometimes I'll get lucky and pull the trick I'm trying in a couple tries, other times....not so much.
I was afraid of that, haha. Had any luck with wallrides? I've been experimenting myself and got a few nice looking tricks but I'd like to see what other people can do. The wall under that ramp you were transfering from is a bit strange though, you can ride up the slope, turn horizontal and your board will stick.
You should just have to skate through the end point rather then stop there. There may be a bug where you can overshoot sometimes and have to go back. Perhaps at some point we will add some more visual feed back indicating distance from the path. We will have to fix this, and relegate that high score table at some point. That video is insane. I think there are some problems with the trick naming when rotating through vertical. I'm amazed you can jump the half pipe!, we might need to make an achievement for that. I think I accidentally let more speed be obtained from pushing then was really intended, although, I guess flying around fast is kind of fun. I might borrow some of those transitions for future missions, they are very cool. I shared your video around a bit too. We will probably make lip grinds work better at some point in an update. I'm amazed you could do some of those that you did. Check the front page for the trick book list. If you include late tricks and combos, then the trick possibilities are endless.
I love jumping off that edge into a Nollie Impossible, you land going down the opposite pipe and it looks so damn smooth I was wondering if you'd considered mentioning the GC bug in the app description? You're at 3.5 stars on the UK store and pretty much all of the 1-star reviews are people who can't get past the intro. I don't want to see you suffer for something which should be an easy fix It's amazing how much I keep going back to this though. I use my iPad all throughout the day, switching between Facebook, e-mail, Skype, Kindle, Safari, etc... only now it goes Facebook, True Skate, e-mail, True Skate, Skype, True Skate, Kindle, True Skate, Safari... True Skate Edit: Almost forgot to say what I came here to say! Since you're looking into the possibility of a replay editor, could you stick slow-mo rewind and forward in there? I keep using the rewind button just to watch my awesome tricks over again, but I can only watch it once and it has to be backwards
Game needs lot of work. Too finger control are sooo bad. Flips sistem a little to fast on the flip. Control of turning not the best. Overall 3/5 the game has great potencial for a 5 star game.
It would be nice if you could properly drop in from vert stuff. Edit: it would also be cool if with each new session your board is new and then gets progressively scratched up.
How are you positioning your fingers when you play this? i'm having a hard time getting something that works and gets awesome results each time like your video and i've been playing this a ton. My max combo is almost 2k and it just involves a trick, grind, trick. I feel like I'm playing this game wrong or something :\
I'm gonna kill whoever is in charge over at ScreenFlow. I just spent ages capturing what I would consider some pretty inventive and unique tricks when my whole project decided to delete itself. The annoying thing is I'd made sure to save it, so when the error occurred it actually managed to destroy the work that should have been safe too.
Was considering that, but I don't think it would help that much, and it takes a while for that description to be updated. It is annoying though, considering that there are work arounds posted on the support page, and that the problem can just go away by its self. I remember being a bit worried that the game center log in code could cause a pause if game center didn't return the message we where looking for. I wish I had of put a time out on that pause as a fall back. Anyway, hopefully we can get an update out soon.
I don't know. I'm still messing around a bunch. Most of the time my iphone is on my desk and I just use both pointer fingers, one for the kick and one for the flip. Some tricks are easier just using the same finger for both though. I'm definitely still learning though. There are all sorts of ways to maneuver the board. I finally learned how to kickflip noseslide and tailslide around the bowl. Popping way early on tranny opens up possibilities. Seems like if you pop a nollie trick right when you hit the ramp it sends you FLYING. I'll hopefully have a new video together tomorrow. Just experiment with it though. I swear every day I learn something new by just trying something I normally wouldn't have. The first day I had with this game I thought it was hopeless. But sure enough, just like Touchgrind, it slowly comes to you.
I agree with all of this. Nobody is pro at this game yet. Every time I think I'm getting comfortable and know what I'm doing, I find a new way to manipulate the board and new possibilities open up.
Finally was able to do something I've been trying for a while! So when you are in between the half pipe thing, facing the pool, there is that rail on the far side of the pool up a few feet. Anyway, I wanted to launch out of the pool onto that rail, finally did it and it felt soooo good!
Nicee! I didn't even see that. I wonder if I can properly explain what I've been attempting... let's give it a shot. Where that arch-shaped yellow rail is there are two straight rails on the edge of a bowl/quarter pipe. I've been trying to either Nollie or Ollie up that ramp, into an Impossible and land in a lip trick with my board vertical, trucks resting on the rail. It's pretty damn tough, probably because there's no stomp effect on the rail from that angle, so you have to get the jump dead on. I almost managed to land it on the smaller rail behind them too
Your back trucks? Yeah, looks tough! I just found the spot you are talking about, I'll give it a go too! I can't seem to do the impossible fast enough.
Yeah, it's not easy. The Impossible is easier to do if you don't take your finger off the screen after the Ollie, just flick it in the other direction once the board is almost vertical. That ramp helps the rotation a lot though. ...and since totallymichael brought it up earlier: [hqyoutube]eQE8BoauWS0[/hqyoutube] Included the slow-mo just in case anyone wants to get a better look at what my finger is doing.
