Try to only use one finger when doing hard flips. Hard flips are a bit like pop shove its except the board flips vertically. Swipe the tail like you do in a pop shove it, except swipe a little more down rather to the left like a pop shove it
Sounds like a good idea to get a lot of content out there, but I worry the quality might suffer. Sometimes level editors end up feeling like the same old thing with a few ramps placed sllightly differently. You can't often make more advanced edits like sloped terrain, different-looking environments and unique obstacles. Things like that would really make a brand new level from the developer stand out from the existing park. It can definitely be done, but there's a big difference in the amount of development work needed to differentiate between letting people place a selection of ramps on flat ground and having a robust editor that really lets the imagination run free.
Woot! 3257 points! Not that high but I'm getting there. Btw how have people gotten over 10000 on one trick?
Grinds back and forth on the pool for 10 minutes LOL. It's pretty cheap. By the way I think the point system could be tweaked. You should get a lot more points for doing a kick flip to nose slide Compared to an olly to 50-50 grind. Not even close in difficulty level.
I would like to believe a developer monitored vote process would be a good way to ensure quality content. The community can decide what they like, and the devs can screen out the 'troll' votes or votes obtained via other devious means. Well, any platform of user-generated content would reach saturation sooner or later. Such degree of creative commons is unavoidable. Not saying it's a good thing but this, just, happens. I do believe the top favorited maps would have a good deal of variety amongst them though (Air Coaster user-generated content for example). More advanced features can come in updates. For the immediate present, a basic map editor would suffice. Perhaps a texture editor can allow the creation of more varied objects?
Here's a video of some of my highlights from yesterday. Half of the trick names are wrong so just ignore those. I am so addicted to this. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Edit: I'm not into the triple flip crook nollie impossible tailslide double 360 flip kind of stuff. I try to keep it fairly realistic (Other than the whole jumping off of 30 foot ledges into bowls, doing tricks over entire half pipes thing).
Those tricks off of the elevated spot into the pool were nice, I've never tried that. What do you use to record your screen?
I actually just downloaded Reflection which is like Airplay for windows (or mac). It's pretty awesome. It can upscale it to 1080p on your monitor. But then I just used Fraps to record that while I play. I hope this helps.
I just use one finger, except when I need to push and steer at the same time. (There is really only one situation where I have to do that.)
Balls. I was hoping no one would find that transfer until we got a real replay option and I could bust it out Great video though, makes me realise I need to practise my grinds a little more. Are you actually doing them quite as easily as the video makes it look or is there a lot of rewinding involved?
I alternate depending on the trick. Nollie tricks almost always require two fingers just because of how fast you have to do the 2nd swipe before the board becomes horizontal with the camera. The way the camera is set up, on ollies your board can move in a vertical rotation around 100 degrees to get your 2nd swipe. On nollies you have around 30-40 degrees before you have to swipe. I guess that's one of the drawbacks of having the 3rd person angle. With the top down camera in Touchgrind ollie and nollie tricks are the same. But yeah. With most regular flip tricks one finger at a time seems to work just fine.
