It seems like some people want this to evolve into a realistic skating sim, and others want it to be more of a game-game. I thought of something today that could potentially please both camps and make True Axis a little more dough in the process. How about make two IAP packs in the future: the "True Pack" and the "Skate Pack" (seewhatididthere?) True Pack - This is for people (like me) that would rather have this be more like a sandboxy sim. It would come with a replay editor with slow mo, camera placement, editing tools, etc. Make your own skate vids and upload them to YouTube. It could also come with a way to make your own boards by taking pictures and/or editing graphics. Also comes with some official True Axis made boards and one new environment to skate it. Skate Pack - For the high score chasers who want something more akin to THPS. This pack could come with a multiplayer mode (I'm thinking async "HORSE" would work best) and maybe a career mode and a 2 minute score attack or something. Like the "True Pack", this one also comes with new True Axis boards and one new environment. I think most of the people here would buy both. I would...
I'm not sure what people are talking about wanting another park. Maybe it takes a real skateboarder's mentality? But I've literally just been sessioning one thing for an hour, another thing for an hour, and any time I just roam around I always find something I didn't see before. There are literally hudreds of opportunities. Latest thing I've been trying is gap over the top of the half pipe to hit the rail on top of the deck. Takes a lot of speed. One other thing I noticed though....are bluntslides/noseblunts just not possible on ledges? I tried it for an hour last night landing perfectly in blunt position quite a few times and it never locks in to slide. As soon as I get in the blunt it just rolls off the side. I did a nice buttery nollie heel noseblunt (registered as nollie kickflip noseblunt) on a rail and it was obvious that it locked in. But I couldn't for the life of me get it to lock in on a ledge. Kind of a bummer considering blunts on ledges just look way sicker than on rails.
No IAP packs or fake money thank you. Just make the park a bit bigger and more evolved, maybe a smaller passageway leading into another section of the park. And if you want more for it, price the game accordingly.
Oh oh oh! I just thought of something! For some of the low rails, if you are going fast and try to grind, you will just jump the length of the rail because you Ollie too high. I wish you could use your finger to push down on the board to keep a low ollie and then you can grind going really fast without having to ollie 15 feet behind the rail... Does that make sense to anyone? Also, about the idea for the true pack and the skate pack, I love it. I'm normally opposed to IAP but I think in this case it is a good idea. No virtual currency. I think that vc usually pathetic-ifies games. A idea to unlock boards and such could be that say you bring in more missions, where you have to match a guy's line, and each mission is a different board? Meaning, you have to match the line of each different board you want to unlock. Oh! And with a board editor, we can make our own boards, and then when we do a sick line we can challenge a friend to match it, and then they are rewarded the board we designed that we assigned to the challenge. Did that make sense? Just brainstorming! Wall slides could be fun, power sliding too! Could be used to link tricks together in a line?
I like the Sim aspect of the game. Maybe some specific challenges would be cool too. The only problem I have with the skate park is everything seems too close together. I'm constantly running into Objects while trying to get around. It doesn't feel like there's enough space to get a good line. Also, the rewind button is kind of jacked up. If you rewind too far you suddenly appear somewhere else. Fixing this would go along way, or you could just add a feature to put a marker down that you could jump back to at anytime like skate.
Hi Luke, an impossible is a trick where the skateboard wraps around your foot on a horizontal plain. The trick that is on the game is a style of casper although it's rarely done (if ever) on a real skateboard. Anyway I love the game and wasn't trying to be picky by mentioning it
So what your saying is, you want the dev's to work on making more content but you don't want to pay them to do it! You want it for free? Would you work for weeks and not expect to be paid for your work? Personally I don't mind IAP's to add extra content I just don't like consumables. I've spent money on unlocking extras in games like hero mages, ascension and stair dismount etc.
You've misread his post. He suggested: Have one purchase cost and make that higher if needed, but don't use IAP.
Yes well IAP for extra content will achieve the same end result, you end up paying more overall for the game and end up with more content. His point about having no IAP is silly as no IAP to fund the dev's usually means no more content.
I'm going to start off saying that this game is sweet. My only problem is that I can't control the board, constantly running into things. I haven't got onto anything to board slide or grind because I keep ollieing over everything. Deffinantly a good toy to play around with but I'm already bored with it because the tricks are not that interesting without a body on the board not to mention that I can't get a run going or started for that matter.
Isn't there an option of changing how to control the board via accelerometer? I can't figure out how to change it from the touch controls. :-/
Game is alright. Some things worth noting is the ollying is too floaty. This would be fine if you could slam down on the board in midair. It would make grinding rails much more realistic and less clunky. As it is now I'm floating over everything and running into too many things.
Has anyone been able to go up the stairs which seem to take to another section of the park? I've tried hundreds of times, but it seems impossible.
I've deemed it impossible for now after trying for a long time. It's probably "mathematically possible" right now
It's impossible, just discovered it. I was able to get to where you see in the attached pic. The skate in the pic is against a transparent wall which I guess defines the end of the scenery,so it's pointless to continue trying
Actually, I think it is possible to get over the invisible wall, but I haven't done it myself. See these posts from a few pages back:
Yeah, the invisible wall is meant to stop you getting out But I think Luke said that the speed and jumps were altered so it *should* be possible to get out. But it's hard I managed to get the front two wheels to clip over the wall but then the board just bounced back off
