Man, at first I was completely confused by this; then I realized I was in sandbox mode and that's why I wasn't seeing what you were seeing. I feel silly. Those 2.1B point scores seem like the result of a hack, not a cheat. It isn't remotely possible to reach a score that high even with unlimited coins in your piggy bank. There's a sharp break between 9m point scores and everything above them (next highest is 32m). I'm guessing everything above 9m is currently a hack.
That's a known bug that we're still not sure how to fix. We've pinged Apple for help and haven't heard back from them yet. We'll figure it out sooner or later. We've heard from a few customers that for some reason, "restore unlimited turns" didn't work for them. In every case but one, they either needed to A) reboot their device, then try to restore, or B) wait a few hours, then try to restore. This is another bug that we really don't understand as all we're doing is calling Apple's standard API for restoring a non-consumable IAP. Very frustrating. Anyway, we're still working on finding a fix to this; in the meantime, you just need to keep hitting that "restore" button and eventually it *will* give you back your unlimited turns. Sorry for the hassle!!
After closing Triple Town from multitasking, Open up the settings app, then go to store and log out from your iTunes account. Then log in again. Hopefully that works!
Technically i guess you're right, it's a hack. But people aren't using it for the purpose of hacking, they're using it for the purpose of cheating their way to a higher score. If the hack has been taken care of, wouldn't a reset of the scoreboards solve a lot of the iritation among the users? And lock out the scoreboards to anyone not using the latest version?
It's not that I need leaderboards to have fun, it's just once you have played that exact game with the exact setup **so** many times it becomes I little stale so then the only thing to get it feeling fresh again is achievements or leaderboards, but that's impossible because of cheaters. Over 9 million are hackers, but I'd strongly imagine that most scores above 3 million would be a result from the coin and item cheat, the game has only been out 2 weeks, I doubt people would develop such pro skills to get 9 mil in that short distance, especially when you've hit the mil mark and no how long it takes and how much space it takes, building around the triple castle, churches and trees, it's almost definitely the coin cheat. Wish there was more incentive to keep playing triple town..but it's one of this games you get addicted to hardcore for a while, then almost disgusted by it.. Like eating nothing but celery and lettuce on a diet then almost dry heaving at the thought of eating a stick of celery. I haven't opened beloved triple town in at least a week now..I kinda miss her but it's just not fun to me anymore, which is crazy because I thought itd never get old.maybe it's because I've discovered everything there is to be discovered..if they added more buildings or something I reckon I'd be addicted again.. I'd love to see a different mode with bigger playing field, and more options, bears still make churches, trees still make huts, but also throw another thing in there..I dunno like maybe shopping centre or theme park, actually theme park would be awesome! You could plant 3 apple trees and get a candy apple stall, then 3 candy apple stalls makes a carnival, 3 carnivals make a theme park, 3 themeparks make Disney world, or something like that..god that'd be epic... I think if there was more possiblitys by using the basics already there (like when you combine 4 bushes you get an apple tree, 4 trees you get a hut with a bigger window etc) if you created more options by doing the 4 way items....that would make gameplay so much more in-depth and fun! Especially in a different mode so that it doesn't tamper with the classic mode. Adding different modes would make it so much more fresh, and you really need to compete against yeti town, build triple town bigger and better so people won't support yeti town, anyone would prefer the game with more content, so make triple town that game! Ive seen many iOS games battle clones in court and ending up nowhere...so if I were you, id make a backup plan of making triple town better, and suing there asses. Win/win situation..and since game sites are reporting on it..yeti town is getting bonus publicity (all publicity is good publicity) a few of my friends who are triple town fans have checked out yeti town after seeing it on game sites.. So defeating them in both ways would be key.
The problem with a bigger playing field is that it would take away the main challenge of the game; Triple Town's difficulty isn't about the matching but about space management. With a larger grid to work with, a full game of Triple Town would take about 3.4 weeks to complete.
My highest score is only 200,000. Does anyone have some tips? Conceptually i get it but for some reason i just cant seem to get any higher of a score.
If you're getting in the 200,000s you definitely understand the concept; it's all in the execution. The high-end housing constructs are worth a ton of points (a floating castle is 100K, for example), so the difference between a game where you can castle-castle-crystal and one where two castles are juuuuuust a little too far apart is huge. Outside of that, it's primarily clutter avoidance. It's a fabulous feeling when you can build something advanced and see a ton of space open up.
Actually, I pretty strongly disagree with that. There are over half a million regular players of Triple Town on Facebook and Google+. Most have been playing for several months, and many have downloaded the mobile version of the game. They've had plenty of time to practice. You cannot break 1m points if you are not very, very good at the game. Even with unlimited coins.
Was this, by any chance, developed using Adobe's kraptastic Flash conversion tool? It sure burns through my battery like it was...
Not that many Facebook or google plus users have iPhones, the majority of the threads I've visited I've maybe seen one person who said "i wish this would be more like the Facebook version" I don't think the devs are very experienced in iOS gaming or marketing yet, they had to listen to their fanbase to lower the price, and naively thought the highscore was not even 2 million. And now they also naively think all the highscores were made by genuine players.. Jeez.. They have alot to learn about the iOS world. It's not like triple town is bein unfairly targeted, every game gets the same treatment. I checked out the Facebook version, it didn't appeal to me, same buildings, same map, etc but there's a tutorial mode that you play through like a campaign or whatever.. But I don't find it fun or fresh, it's the exact same thing but it small bite sizes instead, Which doesn't really serve any purpose other then teach new players how to play, in a slow dragged out way. The game was good but it's gone stale and there mustn't be plans to add new features or Facebook would have got it by now. I wonder if yeti town would add more stuff.. Been playing it lately cause it feels a bit different to triple town can't stand that bland colorscheme ugh It shows how quickly these games die without fresh content.. This thread was getting heaps of hits at first then dwindled slower and slower to one or two posts a day.. Sometimes none a day. I guess I will keep my old version of triple town with the item and coin cheat.. Someday if I'm really bored I may see how far I can get with unlimited coins.. I cloned 200k coins last time i played getting ready for a big cheat festival but never followed through because I just can't bring myself to play again, it's like playing tetris over and over, there's one mode and it gets boring extemely quick, but the devs dot care they just wanted your money, which was quite clear when they released the app as $7. I wonder what score I could get with 200k coins..thank god for the coin cheat because I actually was going to purchase a $10 pack of coins til I saw the cheat! Anyway I'm through with this, it's like shooting a dead horse, the devs learned from sales that they needed to listen and reduced their price, maybe in a few months when there getting 2 downloads a week they might decide to update. Who knows? They changed the price pretty quickly so.. Looks like they are capable of being fast learners when the money stops coming in.. If anyone wants to know the unlimited coin bug PM me
Haha I might have to take on your offer just to prove you wrong. You do realize there's also a cheat which allows you to buy unlimited items? So if I cloned those coins even further, I could potentially keep playing forever, you just keep buying imperial bots when your stuck and running out of space..But the thought is daunting. It'll probably take hours so I dunno. Next time I'm on a long train ride and have no wifi coverage I might just give it a go. People are already messaging me about the coin bug, but let it be known- if you want to exploit coins DO NOT UPDATE. or your chances are gone. They probably fixed the bug by now so just don't update.
If you cheat, who cares what scores you can get? You might as well just hack the program and give yourself whatever score you want. The fact that you can pretend to get high scores is true in most iOS game, but so what?
Well, when you're a bitter misanthrope who thinks threads on TA have any measurable effect on the app store performance of a casual aimed game like Triple Town, and are somehow in possession of a high enough IQ to master and get bored in under 2 weeks to the point of enmity about a game and its developers that many people have been playing continuously since it first came out for the Kindle in Fall 2010, maybe your mind is so subtle and pretzel like that you can care about wasting hours and hours of your time on a project that someone with a jailbroken phone and the right apps could surpass in a few minutes just by submitting a spoofed score to Game Center... or something like that
Hahaha. Nice response Chip Snozberry, you do realize you joined these forums specifically for TT, no? And as for your complaints, huh? You realize Tetris is one of the most popular games in the history of gaming? I played the game for months when I got it on my original Gameboy. It had one mode. Yet I loved every second of it. And bejeweled, how many modes did it start with? Puzzle games are different beasts. You got bored, sorry to hear that and maybe it's time for you to move on. Go ahead and use your cheats, but remember there are hard limits on each of the items you an purchase. You can't buy more than 4 bots per game. So 2,000,000 coins isn't going give you a perfect edge. It'll help, sure, but it's not the cure all that will get you 2 million points on the leader boards unless you have a very good handle in the strategy of the game. And his thread heated up heavily in the first few days due to pricing discussions. There's not a ton to talk about right now, and have you considered that people would rather play the game than debate it endlessly? Chip is right, this game has been out over 2 years and people continue to play it, as they will on iOS. You aren't the norm, sorry.
The person's posts are the gaming forum's version of Poe's Law in action. In his defense, he's saying there's an exploit to buy all the items you want as well. It's probably similar to the same glitch that makes it possible to get extra coins by force quitting the game at the reward screen; something like buy something, force quit and you'll have the item and the store will be full again. If so, and I have no reason to doubt it, you could hypothetically abuse the glitches to any score you felt like if you had the patience. Still, I think what they fail to grasp is that most people play puzzle games to play against themselves, to learn to see moves they used to miss, to last longer than they did the game before. They're not really competitive in the strict sense of the word, and the idea of abusing glitches to get a higher score isn't even considered. To use a game they disparaged, most recent iterations of Tetris have had a glitch you can abuse to take as long as you like to place a piece, yet the vast majority of people don't bother because it removes the whole point to playing in the first place, and yet I've seen many post how ruined the game is because they can't help themselves to not use the glitch.
I am really enjoying this game but must really suck be cause my scores are stuck at arouund 50-70K without using the store and maybe 120K if I do use the store all out. Any tips for novices like me? (or links to tips would be appreciated too).
Can't stop playing this. Been thinking about the IAP for awhile. The second I found it went down to $3.99 I took the plunge. Well worth it for as much as I play it.
