A tip for you guys who want to make sure you're playing with humans is to hit Play w/ Friends and instead of inviting anyone, add up to 3 Auto-Match slots and hit Play. Game Center will continue to search until it finds 3 other people to put you in the Lobby. This method DOES respect your game type selection and may take time if the world hasn't all joined us yet.
As in from Game Center itself? Because I do use Game Center and it does log in, but nothing comes up in the drop-down menu. I just have "Singleplayer" and "Bluetooth". Game Center does log in every single time.
Quit TF and log out of GC, then open TF and log into GC when it prompts you. Also, make sure you Internet connection is working.
Still absolutely nothing. Fresh download, logged out of GC, started the game, logged into GC...nothing at all. :/
Log in to your gamecenter. The game should be listed there. Click play from in game center. Theres no reason it wouldnt be listed in your gamecenter account that I'm aware of. It might depend on what version of the iOS you're running but it's not something I've come across before. Then once the game launches, tap play. The modes will come up and the top right will display the four options for connection.
Same issue here Only BT/Single Player... Internet working fine, done all dev has suggested, deleted, reinstalled, logged out of Game Center & in again still nowt...I'm on iPad 2 5.1.1
Yeah, tried that too and it still doesn't work. iPhone 4, 5.1.1...not jailbroken, and I don't think I have to mention that the game's legit. Not pirated.
Weird, i just had the same problem as you. Free for all was selected, the menu top right just showed single player/bluetooth (earlier it didnt) I then clicked on king of the hill and selected the dropdown and this time it showed all the other options. Then went back to free for all and now the dropdown showed all the options not just two (weird though)
For those commenting on price and iap, the game is certainly value for money. The iap is absolutely an option only for those who want a quick shortcut to unlock weapons. The simple fact is that the iap is totally not going to give you an advantage in the game and any thing that you buy with iap is unlocked by simply playing it so why would you buy it anyway. That would defeat the purpose of trying to progress in it at all. Plus none of the higher grade weapons are over powered to the extent that a little bit of skill won't beat them. Fairly normal for most good shooters. The price point comments are quite silly as well. Not everything is free. If the developer has spent two years on the game, the fact is they have to pay wages for ten people and make a profit. Surely the price of a big mac with bacon is not too much? Especially considering iap is far from compulsory and something that most wont actually buy or need to buy. This argument of free games is the reason iap is so prevalent in the app store, yet everybody complains about iap. And yet when a game charges a price, gives an iap option (and I mean option, not compulsory) that most won't actually take because all iap options can be got anyway, people complain. It makes no sense to me. Why not just unlock all the weapons, give the game away for free and have no iap. That seems to be the only thing that would satisfy some people. However, there would no games on the app store because all the developers would have died of starvation.
Just tried doing that over and over again to no avail. This is the first time this has ever happened to me in over 3 years of iOS gaming. :/
The only thing that could be is that there is a problem getting to the gamecenter server and the game is showing up the available options for each mode at the time. And this is the problem with gamecenter multiplayer. You are limited in how many real players can be there because of the server restrictions Apple has in place. A lot of developers dont use Gamecenter for mutiplayer because of this. Some just use it for achievements and leaderboards and their own servers for game matches and friends. Air Supremacy is a good example of that. I'm sure when they open it up a bit more, we'll see a lot more developers use gamecenter.
The only other option I can find for the matchmaking not showing up is in the restriction settings on your device. The gamecenter options in restrictions has two options. One is multiplayer games and the other is adding friends. Adding friends is automatically set to on. Check that multiplayer games is set to on.
Sorted mine out for now but can't play using my normal main GC Account as nowt registers BUT signed in using one of my other 4 accounts ( my Canadian One ) and it now registers all modes. Maybe try making a new Game Center account,or use one other than your normal one if you have more than one Apple account and see if that works, mine did
Overall? So just to clear the air...is this game working with onlinemultiplayer? Also if so how do we get around making it work.... From what I read so far... It's having issues with bots only in multiplayer games? Does logging into GC fix this...or do you need to choose a multiplayer option in GC to play with others? Is it friends only? Why does adding GC friends help all the more? Thx TrevUno
For most it does work with online mutiplayer. I think the issue might be if you have more than one gamecenter account if I read Toads comment correctly. The issue with bots only in multiplayer is the community is still quite small as it only launched yesterday. So the game makes it a full match by adding bots. Bear in mind though that the bots have very good AI and behave very much like you'd expect a real person too so it basically gives you the chance to play a full challenging match. The other to note is that Apple only allows up to 4 real players in gamecenter itself. But that is solely down to Apple. It's not an issue really though and it is the main reason the developer put so much effort into the enemy AI. It is difficult to spot the real from the AI when you're in a match. It's not friends only but the option to play with friends rather than auto matching works better. 30 seconds wait to match up as opposed to nearly 2 minutes at times with auto matching. Adding gamecenter friends just matches up quicker.
