I bought the $20 coin pack so I could get the biggest tank upgrade. I've never spent so much money on an IAP in my life as an iOS gamer. Feel ashamed in a way. # The reason though is that the game is really fun to play, and there are so many objectives to complete that the rate your tank fills up is just sooo slow. Like 1 fuel per 3 minutes. I suppose I could just put it down and do something else for a few hours but it got me with its fuel timer... For 20 bucks I feel they should take the timers off completely, but that's just how it is. Besides the rediculous IAPs (up to 99 US dollars - good grief) the game is great and different than the Trials games I put so many hours into on XBLA. Also hesitating to use the Facebook option because it gives them so much access to you personal info. But I would like to compete with friends ghosts, etc. I'm torn between if I should do that or not. If anyone did this let me know about your experiences with it. I would have given this a five star review if it had just been a premium title. 4.5/5

From what I've seen, it just posts your time score every time you complete a time trial or something. Disconnected facebook anyway because I hate using it (and social media in general anyway) and most of the time, facebook connection is pretty useless in games to me.

That aside, I always keep hearing the Shadows OST from Evolution when I play this game.

Hey I actually beat butch!! By a hair's breath, I must say... Yea, you can't go as fast as him. But you can beat him if you skip the two circular ramps. Just don't accelerate for the first one and you'll drop neatly through and pull back a little for the second one and wait for the platform to drop before you zoom through.

Thanks for the tip.I decided to give it another try and voila, first attempt since I returned and I scraped through! I guess it isn't that impossible after all.

Just finished the mission where i had to collect all parts for the jackal. But one piece is still missing and there is no new mission for it. There are only two missions left: Timecapsule and the missions where i need the jackal. Ohh and there is some sort of robot character in the saloon, but i can't click on it.

I think I have a bug in my game. The robot doesn't give me any mission. He is just there with all the other characters even though the saloon has an "!" above it. Am I the only one with this problem or am I doing something wrong?

It's not a bug... he'll be like that for awhile until a little after you get the jackal!

I'm no fan of Freemium, and I don't care for the whole character interaction and mission structure of this game. But now that I've played it more I wanted to respond to your statement that the tracks are super easy. I think you either must not have played very far into the game, or you're just really good at this kind of game, because I'm finding the tracks get pretty tricky as you go on, especially once you start doing the class 2 tracks. I own Trials HD and Trials Evolution and have put lots of hours into them, and I'd say the tracks have a similar flavor and difficulty, toned down just enough to suit the less precise touch controls and shorter play sessions that can be expected on mobile. You mentioned a few pages back that you've put many hours into playing the other RedLynx Trials games, as you put it more hours than some posters on here have been alive. Maybe that's why this game seems easy to you.

I'd definitely have preferred a premium version of Trials without all the fluff. However I think the actual tracks and physics in this game certainly beat any other iOS trials game I've tried. Bike Baron on iOS probably is the closest to Trials on XBLA in terms of gameplay, i.e. just trials riding with no fluff. However I think the tracks, handling and physics in Trials Frontier are far superior.

Thanks. I have the jackal for some time now but I'll keep on playing and see what happens.

I love the game and the graphics, I can live with the timers. BUT why oh why do I need an internet connection to do a bike upgrade. I run this on an iPod Touch 5g and I also have an iPad, neither of these have a connection other than Wi-Fi, which means if you are out and about you cant upgrade your bike. I have more than enough money for the upgrade to the bike and I have a few gems already so why do I HAVE to have an internet connection ? Not everybody runs with an available data connection on their device, sometimes data connections are not available, I don't see the point if you have the required resources in the game.

Has anyone beaten the robot mission on the track Frog Village, I get to the point where there is a small 180 ramp with a mushroom and frog stuck to the backside of it that's taller and I cannot get over it. Thinking I just need to upgrade my bike more for more speed and lean but that is the hardest jump so far.

Yeah, it seems like Uplay is only used for social features. There doesn't seem to be any cross-device syncing.

Actually there is. You just need to play through the first couple stages and it will prompt you if you want to resume your existing game.

You either need to upgrade your bike, or you're not executing the technique correctly.

Start from a neutral position, lean forward as your front tire hits the incline, then keep leaning forward and accelerating until you're over.

If your back tire tends to loose grip on steep surfaces, let off of the forward lean for a split second to keep traction.

You can also try to wheelie or 'slide' up it.

Yes, this map is very hard. I keep having to retry it. Especially because the robot keeps getting better at it. I think that improving the Jackal is the key to completing it with less tries.

I find timers to be annoying now. Can't play for more than 20 - 30 minutes at a time as I have only 44 tank capacity. I can see hitting the paywall pretty soon. I paid $4 for 200 gems with new paint scheme for one of the bikes but feel that perhaps that was a mistake.

The story/quest aspect of the game is fantastic. Makes you want to keep playing. Updating the bikes is going to be a very long process while hunting for those elusive parts. Does anyone know if you can upgrade the original bike to be better than the next one? I you go by the length of bars for speed, for example, the first bike should be fasted than the second one I have but it is not the case.

Just so you know, the robot is other peoples' personal best runs. They keep getting harder, because you keep beating them.

The Tango and the Mantis are the bikes you need to focus on (and the Berzerker if you have it). The other bikes are more to ease you into each tier with less responsive handling. The Agile bike will almost always be the fastest bike (depending on the nature of the track: technical/flowy).

Like I said, they wait until you're hooked to really start tempting you with IAP (kind of like a drug dealer offers free samples). I respect Redlynx for bringing me one of my favorite titles, but I hate when anybody ruins a solid game with F2P mechanics like this.

Judging by that statement, this must be your first Trials. Sort of sorry to hear that. The real Trials offers a pure, challenging experience with endless replay value. And no garbage to interfere with that.

Is anyone else really struggling with the ghost level on rooftops?

The ghost goes faster than then time I needed to get the platinum medal. I’m really struggling to even get close!
